Decayed parasites are organisms resembling shiny reddish-shelled creatures not unlike a horseshoe crab for reference. They are just the size of a dwarf's hand, and under the reddish shell is a dark speckled creature similar in appearance to a leech. The few who bothered to report about the parasites state that they are part of a hive. This is true, as the parasite's brood mother is the origin and controller of all the parasites it produces. These parasites scour the area around the brood mother to guard it. When a decayed parasite is killed, it poisons the area around it. As a result, their hive locale is often highly toxic so that no other creatures can come close. |
