Charge. If the brood mother moves at least 15 feet straight toward a creature and then hits it with a lunge attack on the same turn, that target takes an additional 9 (2d8) bludgeoning damage and must succeed on a DC 16 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

Innate Spellcasting. The brood mother's innate spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 14, +6 to hit with spell attacks). It can cast the following spells, requiring no material components:

At will: animal friendship, web

Stockpile. The brood mother starts combat with 2 Stockpile. At the end of each of the brood mother's turns, the Stockpile amount goes down by 1, provided it wasn't 0 already. Whenever the brood mother deals necrotic or poison damage or regains hit points, the brood mother may expend any amount of Stockpile to roll another die per Stockpile point spent. If the brood mother has more than 10 Stockpile uses at the start of its turn it can't take actions for the rest of the turn.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The brood mother makes three attacks with its bite.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (1d8 + 5) piercing damage. Additionally, if the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or take 7 (2d6) poison damage and become poisoned for 1 minute. An affected creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.

Stockpile. The brood mother gains 1d3 Stockpile uses.

Blood-Curdling Screech (Recharge 5-6). Each creature that isn't a beast or monstrosity within 30 feet of the brood mother that can hear must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or take 3 (1d6) necrotic damage and become frightened for 1 minute. An affected creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, taking 2 (1d4) necrotic damage on a failure or ending the effect on itself on a success.

Brood (3/Day). The brood mother creates 2 (1d4) decayed parasites that act as allies of the brood mother and obey its spoken commands. The parasites remain for 1 hour, until the brood mother dies, or until the brood mother dismisses them as a bonus action.

BONUS ACTIONS

Rest. The brood mother regains 7 (3d4) hit points.

Swarm (1/Day). The brood mother creates an amount of decayed parasites equal to the amount of Stockpile it currently has.

Unhittable. The brood mother takes the Disengage action.

This horrific creature is so aptly named for its ability to produce a disgusting and horrible brood of parasites. They resemble deformed trees in swamps and other moist and damp environments, with a dark trunk and roots that seem far too thick to be normal. These appendages will often feel fleshy more than like normal bark, and it can pulsate. All along its body and canopy are transparent pods that slowly turn opaque as they mature, becoming decayed parasites which the brood mother deploys. Decayed parasites poison the lands around the brood mother, providing their essential "hive" a toxic haven from other creatures. The core of the brood mother is within the "trunk" of the tree, where it houses a cluster of nerves that allow it to control the parasites that it produces.
In times of danger, this "tree" sheds its stationary form and its roots become several pairs of scuttling feet that can run and allow it to avoid danger.
