Darkened Ki

Prerequisites: Wisdom 13 or higher
Gazing inward to find your true self, you saw only an endless abyss of darkness. From that void you have pulled out power in the form of shadow. Now you may cast in shade all that gaze upon you.

  • Your ki point maximum increases by 1. If you have no levels in monk, your ki points will recharge whenever you complete a short or long rest.
  • You may cast the cantrip Sapping Sting. You may expend 1 ki point to give target disadvantage on the Constitution saving throw.
  • You may expend 1 ki point to cast the spell Arms of Hadar. You may expend 1 additional ki point to give all creatures disadvantage on the Strength saving throw.
  • You may expend 1 ki point to cast the spell Vampiric Touch. Unless you may expend 2 additional ki points during the spell’s initial cast, take 2d6 Necrotic damage.

In addition, you may manifest your mastery over the abyss in more minor ways:

  • You may change the shape of your shadow as you wish, but its total area coverage must remain consistent with light sources
  • Gain 10ft of Darkvision for every 10% of your maximum health you are missing.
  • Your unarmed strikes deal 1d6 Necrotic damage to both the target and you if they hit.
  • If you kill an enemy with Necrotic damage, regain 1d6 hit points.
