In the world of Theous, every living being has access to one or more forms of power. These powers shape destiny, drive society, and determine the rise of heroes and kings alike.
The power system of Theous is divided into three distinct but interconnected paths:
- Job Skills – The divine path chosen at birth.
- Skills – Acquired talents and personal growth.
- Aura – The core power of one's spirit.
Together, these three aspects define the strength, identity, and potential of every individual in the world.
Job Skills[edit]
"The gods do not whisper; they carve your fate in stone." Job Skills are divine vocations revealed at birth. In many cultures of Theous, this calling is seen as the literal path the gods have chosen for an individual.
- A Job Skill determines the direction of one’s life from a young age.
- In some kingdoms, following your Job Skill is not just tradition—it’s law.
- Those who abandon their Job Skill may face exile or spiritual shame.
- Job Skills often grant unique, signature abilities related to one's divine path.
Skills[edit]
"To work is to grow. To master is to become." Skills represent learned talents, habits, and disciplines. While some are gained at birth, most are acquired through action and experience.
- Skills can be unlocked through repeated practice or exposure.
- They can evolve, combine, or specialize into more advanced techniques.
- Example: A farmer may gain skills such as Crop Tending, Soil Sense, or Weather Reading.
- Skills are the backbone of Theous society—defining craftsmen, merchants, warriors, and beyond.
Aura[edit]
"The heart glows, and the world obeys." Aura is the fundamental magical energy that flows within all living beings in Theous. Stored in the heart, aura can be released and shaped into countless forms.
- Aura is the primary power system used in Theous, Usually reserved for the best of the best.
- It can manifest as glowing ethereal constructs—bows, swords, chains, shields, or even wings.
- Aura grows stronger through emotional resonance, training, and connection with the self.
