Crystal Infuser (5e Class)

Crystal Infuser[edit]
Crystallized Essence, Infused to Command[edit]
"There are far too many options, skills, spells, and creative ways to survive in these Worlds. So little... opportunity within each Class." A small, hooded creature exclaims to the Crystals that lay before him. It continues as it shakes its head. "Untapped potential... We want more! Much, much more! We will need it for what is coming!" As a taller figure approaches in response. Lifting a Star Amethyst the size of a fist from the pile of Crystals. "We NEED these Powers Cruxix. Not want. Need! Your grubby impish hands want everything. If not for your knowledge of the World beyond our own, I'd have never asked that Warlock to summon you for me. Now, shall we begin?" The man places the Star Amethyst upon the altar. He brushes back the glimmering sleeves of his robe. His arms bear sigils and runes that appear to be made of Crystals themselves. Fused to his skin, the symbols begin to glow. "Step unto the altar Cruxix. We must know what you know." The greenish-purple Imp throws off its robe to reveal its beady orange glowing eyes. Narrowly looking at the altar, then to the man, and then to the altar again. "Know what I know, but you are not Cruxix. You do not have the Key of Demons Blood and Demons Will to enter once you do know." The flames flicker the shadow of the Imp scurrying onto the altar, utop the Crystal. A few candles randomly ignite and turn black as the pointed-eared man's hands begin to move in sync. His hands start weaving geometrical shapes within his fingers as they mirror each other. "You are not even a Warlock. In fact, what is this spell? I've never heard of anything like this. And don't think you can force me to let you cross Worlds. It doesn't work that way. Only Cruxix can travel with Cruxix. It is not for Elves to... What is that on your arms? Why do they glow with familiar magics?" The hand movements continue and blackish orbs shoot up from the table, surrounding the Star Amethyst and the Imp. "WHAT?! What is this? Cruxix doesn't feel right. Let me out! Let me out now!" He bangs his four-fingered limbs in all directions but the barrier holds. Frantically he scuttles all around inside the orb. The Star Amethyst pulses with a deep purple glow. "Xanavyss! I already agreed to tell you! Stop this! If I am dead I can tell you nothing! NOTHING!" Xanavyss continues his weaving. Moving his hands closer and around the orb. His stern face has now cracked into a smirk. The black flames have risen so high that not even the now blowing wind can put them out. The Imp's screams are now barely loud enough to be heard over the loud humming coming from the Amethyst. "It's a waste! We could have all the Powers! ALL! And you trick Cruxix?! You know nothing. You are nothing! You need me! You can never cross over! You will never be Cruxix!" Panics the phasing creature. The Crystal Infuser slowly moves his hand outward and away from the orb with his hand in the shape of a circle, mimicking the orb's form. He continues yelling until his hands are stretched out to his sides, hands still in the form of the Orb. The humming ascends into a high-pitched buzz. Barely through the noise can be heard the terrified Imps shaky voice. "You...are..a...fool! You...need..." Shhwoop! The sound echoed through the chamber and halls of the great Castle. The flames and winds returned to normal. A faint greenish glow aura'd around the Star Amethyst. The pleased Infuser quickly clutched the stone. Examining it in delight. He smiled. "That's where you are wrong my friend. With this, I now know what you know. And in moments..." The Drow placed the Infused Crystal behind his neck, then continued lower to between his shoulder blades. He murmured an incantation and the Crystal oozed into his skin. It began to shift and glide along his skin in a fashion similar to the markings on his arms. He shook, gasped for a moment, and fell onto one knee. Eyes straining from the pain. After a few moments, the Star Amethyst was completely gone. Now a purple Crystal tattoo along Xanavyss' back. He proudly stood up. "Now Cruxix, I AM the Demons Blood and the Demons Will... As far as the Gate is concerned. I am now the Key!" His mouth formed back into his earlier smirk. As he opened his eyes an Orange flash flickered quickly through his eyes and the spell of Crystal Infusion was complete. "I WILL have all the Powers to save this World. Your sacrifice will not be in vain." -Journal Entry of a Crystal Infuser Sage Cutter
The Crystal Infuser[edit]
The Crystal Infuser is a Class that strives for power far beyond a singular class ability. Even the most experienced individual that reached Mastery of their craft is still limited to skills within their own nature. A Barbarian fights with weapons and strength. A Wizard casts spells from a distance. And so on... The Crystal Infuser wants to walk all Paths at the same time. They have studied ancient arts and have created a way to Infuse powers, skills, and even creatures. From their hidden Crystal Keep, deep deep underground, they have 4 Cutter Academies where students choose in what way they will fully harness the power of Crystals.
1. The Blade Cutters; focused on developing the ultimate Sword made from Infused Crystals. Fusing Magic with the Resonance of Infused Crystals has allowed them to forge Crystal Blades that appear to float from their hilt. Combining a number of Crystals into their Blades, these weapons are far beyond your typical "Swords". Their battle prowess and relationship with their Infused Crystal Blade have made them something of Legends. However, it's something that not many have lived to tell the tale of.
2. The Marked Cutters; tattooed for their pleasure. The newest and strangest Academy by far. These Monk/Warlocks have devised a way to turn Crystals into a type of Magical Ink, infusing the Magic, Abilities, and sometimes other Beings; directly into themselves. Masters of this Academy have even achieved fully Casting their bodies with these Marks and have transformed into something completely different from what they once were.
3. The Sage Cutters; "Yes I'll take that Magic too", seems to be their creed. For those that prefer arcane over armor, and spells over steel; there couldn't be a better Academy than The Sage Cutters. Developing Crystals to harness Magic from all sources, regardless of alignment, devotion, or class. From staves, wands, books, and scrolls; not an item out there can compete with a Sage Cutters array of Crystals. There is a surprising amount of Sage Cutters traversing the Worlds, they are usually mistaken for overly flashy Lords of Ladies that are obsessed with vanity and jewelry. No, these Crystal Infusers are simply armed to the teeth in plain sight.
4. The Set Cutters; all Kingdoms need crafters. The Crystal Keep is no exception. The Set Cutters have created the most wonderfully imaginative items that you would have to see to believe. This goes far beyond Crystal powered automotrons; from armor imbued with dozens of Infused Crystals, to weapons set with Crystals along blades, hammers, bows, guns; you name it! If the Artificer had a Mythical old brother, they would be a Set Cutter Crystal Infuser. They use their cunning and creations to battle. Sometimes their creations are so "over-Set" for destruction, they even hurt themselves with it.
Creating a Crystal Infuser[edit]
Crystal Infuser - Blade Cutter - Subclass by Unknown |
When creating a Crystal Infuser, consider what Spells, Feats, or Classes you'd like to combine. How well do these abilities work together? Are you chasing ultimate power? Do you want to have more options to draw answers from? Or does a single class just seem too daunting for you? Will you focus more on Magic, Feats, or Enhancing your battle prowess? Is Crystal Infusing something that has been handed down through your family? Did you discover it in a book? Will you only Infuse Crystals with willing subjects and Magic, or will you trap and snatch away whatever Powers suit you? While this Class can create some Crystal types, many Gems will have to be purchased and refined. Do you have the Gold to indulge in your Crystal habit?
- Quick Build
You can make a Crystal Infuser quickly by following these suggestions. First, Intelligence should be your highest ability score, unless you plan to choose the Blade Cutter Subclass or Marked Cutter Subclass; then pick Dexterity first, followed 3rd by Constitution.
