Chronicler (5e Feat)
From D&D Wiki
Chronicler
Prerequisites: Level 8, proficiency in History
You have a knack for recording and recalling historical events and lore. You gain the following benefits:
- You gain proficiency in one of the following skills of your choice: Arcana, Nature, or Religion. If you are already proficient in the chosen skill, you add double your proficiency bonus to checks you make with it.
- You can use a bonus action to consult a book, scroll, or other document that contains historical or factual information. If you do, you gain advantage on your next Intelligence check or saving throw before the end of your next turn.
- You can use your action to make a special History check to recall or discover some relevant information about your current situation or location. The DC of the check is determined by the DM based on the obscurity and complexity of the information. On a success, you learn one piece of information that the DM deems useful or interesting. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
