Chaotic Ki (5e Feat)
From D&D Wiki
Chaotic Ki
Prerequisites: Wisdom 13 or Higher
You have been exposed to chaotic magicks that have randomly left you with some ki abilities. Best to make the best of the situation and explore your new, extremely unstable powers.
- Your ki point maximum increases by 1d4-1. Reroll this amount after every short or long rest. If you have no levels in monk, your ki points will recharge whenever you complete a short or long rest.
- You may cast the Thaumaturgy cantrip.
- You may expend 1 ki point to cast the spell Chaos Bolt. You may expend 1 additional ki point to use 2d10 instead of 2d8 and use the table to the side to determine damage. If the 2d10 match, deal 1d6 extra damage and the jump range is increased by 30ft.
- You may expend 1 ki point to cast the spell Chromatic Orb. You may expend 1 additional ki point to use 3d10 instead of 3d8, but the damage type is randomly decided by the 3d10. Choose 1 damage type corresponding to 1 of the results of the rolls from the table to the side. If all 3d10 match, deal an additional 2d10 damage and regain 1 ki point or deal an additional 1d10 and regain 2 ki points.
In addition, you may manifest your mastery over Chaos in more eccentric ways:
- After a short or long rest, roll 2d10. Gain a vulnerability and a resistance to the corresponding damage types in the table to the side until your next short or long rest based on the results of the rolls. You may choose which gives the resistance and which the vulnerability. You may expend 1 ki point to roll another 2d10 with the same effect. Gaining vulnerability and resistance to the same damage type cancels out both.
- After a short or long rest, roll 1d20 and gain proficiency in skill linked to the result in the table to the side until your next short or long rest. If you are already proficient in the skill, you add double your proficiency bonus to checks you make with it. If you roll a 1, you gain disadvantage on all skill checks until your next short or long rest and no proficiencies. If you roll a 20, you gain advantage on all skill checks until your next short or long rest but no proficiencies. You may expend 1 ki point to roll another 1d20 with the same effect.
- If you roll 3 consecutive 1’s on any die size, deal 1d12 damage to yourself. Damage type is determined by the table to the sidefor a roll of 1-10. If you roll an 11, you take no damage. If you roll a 12, gain 12 temporary hit points instead of taking damage. You may expend 1 ki point to reroll the 1d12.
- Your hair starts to constantly change color, but you have some control over it. After you finish a short or long rest, choose the color of your hair. It may not be a color you’ve previously chosen since the end of your last long rest.
