Celestial Barbarian[edit]

Fueling rage from the celestial bodies above, Celestial Barbarians use their outer space 'deities' to grant them powers during their rage that can make even seasoned warriors gasp in awe.

Making a Celestial Barbarian[edit]

With the strength of the sun, moon, or stars behind them, Celestial Barbarian's pack a very hefty punch as they progress, but, just as Barbarians, they are somewhat lacking in the mental capacity.

Abilities: As the name suggests, a Celestial Barbarian requires a strong Strength and Constitution score. Dexterity is a good follow up choice, and their mental scores are nothing too important, but only one of their scores are somewhat needed due to the Celestial Barbarian's Celestial Attribute.

Races: Celestial Barbarian's follow the same primary races as normal Barbarians.

Alignment: Any non-lawful.

Starting Gold: 3d6×10 gp.

Starting Age: As barbarian.

Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the Celestial Barbarian.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Celestial Barbarian is proficient with all Simple and Martial weapons, as well as Light and Medium armor and shields (except Tower Shields).

NOTE: The Celestial Barbarian and Barbarian share many of the same abilities. For sake of simplicity, if they both share an ability, it follows the same rules and restrictions as a Barbarian's ability of the same level.

Fast Movement: A Celestial Barbarian gains Fast Movement at 1st level.

Celestial Attribute: At 1st level, a Celestial Barbarian chooses to worship either the Sun, the Moon, or the Stars. Once chosen this cannot be changed. The chosen Celestial Object, which is what the Sun, Moon, or Stars will be called from now on, changes the Celestial Barbarian during their rage, and some of their abilities. DM's Note: For same of Balance...the Sun is NOT a Star and the Moon CANNOT grant bonuses during the day, only at night, but no matter if the moon is full or new, still grant bonuses, and in the case of Solar or Lunar Eclipses, the Celestial Object is counted as 'Visible'. Also, when chosen, the Celestial Barbarian may choose any two extra skills to add to their list from the following abilities if their Celestial Attribute allows it: Sun grants 2 Wisdom skills to their list; Moon grants two Intelligence skills to their list; Stars grant two Dexterity skills to their list.

Celestial Rage: A Celestial Barbarian can fly into a fit of rage. HOWEVER this differs from the Barbarian's Rage. During the Celestial Rage, the Celestial Barbarian gains the ability to use their Celestial Attribute Skill (Sun = Wis, Moon = Int, Star = Dex), while during their Celestial Rage. Also, the bonuses and penalties are changed. The Strength and Constitution bonuses are cut to +2, the Will save cut to +1, and the AC penalty cut to -1 if the Celestial Barbarian is not raging during the time of day where their Celestial Object is prominent. While raging during the time of day where their Celestial Object is prominent, the bonuses raise to their normal bonuses, a +2 Hit OR Damage Morale bonuses, chosen at the time of their Celestial Rage, an extra 2 rounds of free rage during their first Celestial Rage of the time their Celestial Object is prominent, and one extra time they may fly into Celestial Rage. The bonuses ONLY apply during the time of day where their Celestial Object is prominent, as stated before, as well as VISIBLE, whether or not there is 'cloud coverage' or an other obstructing view. All other aspects of a Celestial Barbarian's Rage follows as the book Barbarian, including number of rounds they may rage, and all allowed Rage Feats.

Rage Power: A Celestial Barbarian gains a Rage Power as a Barbarian at 1st, 4th, and level 4 levels after that.

Uncanny Dodge: A Celestial Barbarian gains Uncanny Dodge at 2nd Level.

Celestial Boon: At 3rd level, the Celestial Barbarian's devotion to their Celestial Object has grown. While during their Celestial Rage, a Celestial Barbarian adds an additional 1d6 damage to their attack. This damage is Fire if their Object is Sun, Cold if their Object is Moon, or Shock if their Object is Stars, and does not stack or deal extra damage with enchantments that grant Fire, Cold, or Shock damage (Such as Flaming or Flaming Burst). At 6th level, this damage is increased to 2d6. At 9th level, by expending 2 rounds of rage and a Standard Action, a Celestial Barbarian can summon a Solar Fragment, Lunar Hail, or Star Bolt down onto their opponent. This is a Ranged Touch attack that deals 1d6 per 2 Celestial Barbarian levels plus their Celestial Object Modifier, with a Reflex save of DC 10 + 1/2 the Celestial Barbarian's level + The Modifier of the Stat that their Celestial Object rules over for half damage. The object that falls is destroyed whether or not the attack hits, and leaves nothing behind. At 12th level, the Celestial Barbarian adds 3d6 damage to their weapon while Raging, and calling a Solar Fragment, Lunar Hail, or Star Bolt now is a Move Action. At 15h level, the Solar Fragments, Lunar Hails, and Star Bolts now fall into a 25ft diameter circle around the target, dealing damage to all targets caught in the blast, with a Reflex save for Half Damage. And finally, at 18th level, the Celestial Barbarian's damage increases to 4d6, and can choose to condense the Solar Fragment, Lunar Hail, or Star Bolts onto one target, dealing the damage multiple times to the same target as long as there are more that one target within the 2d5ft diameter, and is now a Swift Action as long as the Celestial Barbarian is attempting to attack this turn.

Celestial Reduction: At 7th level, and every 3 levels after, a Celestial Barbarian ignores an increasing 5 points of damage from their Celestial Body's element (Sun = Fire, Moon = Ice, Star = Shock).

Greater Rage: Once at 11th level, the Celestial Barbarian's Celestial rage during their Celestial Object's opposed time of day no longer imposes penalties, and follows the same rules as a Barbarian's Greater Rage while their Celestial Object is prominent.

Tireless Rage: A Celestial Barbarian gains Tireless Rage once at 17th level.

Mighty Rage: A Celestial Barbarian gains Mighty Rage once at 20th level. Also, their Celestial Rage while their Celestial Object is not prominent now gains Greater Rage.

Ex-Celestial Barbarian[edit]

If a Celestial Barbarian is to stop worshiping their Celestial Object, or become Lawful, then they lose the ability to rage and all classes abilities, except for Base Attack, Saves, and weapon and armor proficiencies until they either cease to be Lawful, or worship their Celestial Object for one week in atonement before they regain their class abilities.

Celestial Calamity: The Celestial Barbarian countless times at worship have come to fruition. Once a day as a Full Round Action, the Celestial Barbarian may gather the energies of their Celestial Object into their weapon. They may store this energy for a number of rounds equal to the Celestial Object's Modifier before it unleashes on it's own. If the Celestial Barbarian hits a target with this energy while it is stored, the Celestial Barbarian adds 2d6 extra damage per Celestial Barbarian level onto the attack. This damage ignores Damage Resistance, Elemental Immunity, and healing via the respected elemental, channeling it as pure damage. The Celestial Barbarian may also choose to slam his weapon as hard as he can into the ground, dealing the damage above in a 40ft radius blast to everything around him. The Celestial Barbarian is immune to this attack.

Campaign Information[edit]

Playing a Celestial Barbarian[edit]

Religion: Celestial Barbarian's worship their Celestial Object without fault, and will worship their respective god or goddess. They do have respect to the other gods and goddesses that rule over the other Objects.

Other Classes: Barbarians are their best friends, for sake of they can do nearly the same thing. Celestial Barbarian's get along with Clerics of respective Domains, Druids of nature, and Rangers as well, and even though some Paladin's tend to be under the watchful eyes of gods and goddesses that fall under the domains of Sun, Stars, or Moon, the Celestial Barbarians tend to avoid Paladins.

Combat: A Celestial Barbarian can easily fill in for a missing Barbarian or needed damage dealer.

Advancement: Fighters are the prime choice for sheer face of extra bonuses feats, which translates into more damage dealing potential.

Celestial Barbarians in the World[edit]

The moon guides my blades, as the moon guides the waters of this land. And as long as the moon hangs in the night sky, my blade will always hit my target!
—Solarius 'Sol' Zetsuoa, Lunatio Celestial Barbarian

Daily Life: With the ways Barbarian's act, simply mix it with the overzealous worship of the Sun, Moon, or Stars.

Notables: Solarius 'Sol' Zetsuoa.

Organizations: Where ever Barbarians meet, so do Celestial Barbarians.

NPC Reactions: The same ways they do to Barbarians, though some very select few tend to respect them...in an odd way.
