Blind Senses. The buzzilisk can't use its blindsight while deafened and unable to smell.

Hornet Swarm. The buzzilisk houses a swarm of insects (wasps) in each eye. While within 120 feet of the buzzilisk, the swarms can use its mental ability scores in place of their own, and the buzzilisk can sense everything the swarms can. Either or both swarms can hide inside the buzzilisk, gaining total cover and regaining 2 (1d4) hit points at the start of the buzzilisk's turn. Half of the damage the swarms deal is replaced with poison damage.

Keen Hearing and Smell. The buzzilisk has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.

Mimicry. The buzzilisk can mimic animal sounds and humanoid voices. A creature that hears the sounds can tell they are imitations with a successful DC 14 Wisdom (Insight) check.

ACTIONS

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d6 + 1) piercing damage.

The bizarre buzzilisk is a strange creature somewhat reminiscent of a lizard with large, bulbous eyes. A swarm of stinging wasps calls these eyes home and they enjoy a symbiotic relationship, as the buzzilisk hunts prey and offers the wasps protection, while the wasps drive off other predators.
