Spider Climb. The aswang can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.

Aswang Weaknesses. The aswang has the following flaws:
Forbiddance. The aswang can't enter a residence without an invitation from one of the occupants.
Sunlight Hypersensitivity. The aswang takes 20 radiant damage when it starts its turn in sunlight (this includes its vulnerability to radiant damage). While in sunlight, it has disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks.
Loud Bells. Loud bells and horns being played irritate the sensitive ears of the aswang and it must make a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or be stunned until the end of its next turn.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The aswang makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws. It can use its Drop in place of its two claw attacks.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 3) piercing damage plus 7 (2d6) necrotic damage. The target's hit point maximum is reduced by an amount equal to the necrotic damage taken, and the aswang regains hit points equal to that amount. The reduction lasts until the target finishes a long rest. The target dies if this effect reduces its hit point maximum to 0.

Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d10 + 3) slashing damage. Instead of dealing damage, the aswang can grapple the target (escape DC 16). If the grappled target is Medium or smaller, the aswang can still fly.

Drop. One Medium or smaller object held or creature grappled by the aswang is dropped from the sky and knocked prone. If a dropped target strikes a solid surface, the target takes 3 (1d6) bludgeoning damage for every 10 feet it falls (to a maximum of 6d6). If the target is dropped at another creature, that creature must succeed on a DC 11 Dexterity saving throw or take the same damage and be knocked prone.

The buwan aswang are the leaders of the aswang packs and other yokai and bakemono are drawn to these large bat terrors that descend from the sky to rend and maim with their vicious claws and savage bites. The buwan aswang look similar to a large gargoyle but with the face of a werebat, they have great bat ears for picking up echolocation and they can quickly drop down from the sky and assault their prey or easily abduct them back into the night sky once again. They stand at seven to eight feet tall, and have the same skin and fur as the aswang such as dark purple, brown or black, but albino ones are especially terrifying. Buwan aswang sometimes like to pick up shikki-gaki and drop them right on top of enemies in armor. This generally instantly kills the shikki-gaki and the people near it because of the force the shikki-gaki hitting the ground and the cloud of poison spores the walking corpse produces in its death throes. The buwan aswang hate certain noises like temple bells, gongs and conchs played as instruments. These noises drive away the beast in quick order.
The buwan aswang generally emerges from regular aswang after they have feasted on quite a bit of carrion and blood and slept in their earthen placentas for a time. When risen they act as brutal chieftains of regular aswang, always eating first at a kill and attacking any with vicious claws and bites to reinforce their superiority. The buwan aswang can speak in simple sentences if they wish. The buwan aswang are also known as saru-no-oni and they are a missing link between the yokai as they turn to oni and rakshasas. Strangely enough, these creatures enjoy flying high in the night sky after a good kill and whistling, though this form of whistling is shrill and brings chills to the locals. They also enjoy landing on mountain tops or high trees in the jungles and forests and howling at night. This might be a way to express dominance or intimidation, but some local yamabushi monks think they are just being whimsical and loving their savage existence. Though buwan aswang are known to give an eerie moan or howl when flying to communicate with their packs when they see a potential kill. Buwan aswang generally work for more powerful oni and rakshasas and fly between warlords and armies to act as messengers.
