You invoke the power of Sanguar, the Blood Star. Giant blood-red spikes appear on a creature within range that you can see, and stab out of it in all directions. That creature must make a Constitution saving throw and each creature within 10 feet of it must make a Dexterity saving throw: On a failed save, a creature takes 3d8 blood damage[1].
A creature that takes damage from this spell must also make a Wisdom saving throw to resist the frenzying effects of Sanguar's blood: On a failed save, a creature becomes overcome with bloodlust until the end of its next turn.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, you can target an additional creature to explode with briars for every two slot levels above 2nd. Each creature within a target's area of effect must make saving throws for each instance of the effect.
