Sycophant

Prerequisites: 10 Charisma, Non-Noble Background
You've learned how to earn favor from those above your station, making yourself agreeable to those in power. You gain the following benefits:

  • Your Charisma score increases by 1, to a maximum of 20.
  • You have advantage on Charisma checks (excluding Intimidation) against creatures of higher social standing or authority, and may add your Charisma modifier twice to the roll.
  • NPCs of higher rank start friendly toward you, while common folk tend to regard you with suspicion.
  • After one week of friendly relations with a higher-ranked NPC, you can request minor favors without needing a check. After one month, you can request moderate favors (such as a letter of introduction or temporary lodging) once per month.
  • When dealing with common folk, you must succeed on a DC 15 Charisma (Persuasion or Deception) check to shift their attitude from indifferent to friendly. The DM may impose disadvantage if your reputation is widely known.
