Blade of Growing Regrets (5e Equipment)
Weapon (longsword), Very rare (requires attunement) A simple looking blade, scarred from a long life of fighting. The chips and dents along the blades edge each tell a story of defeat and lost friends. The regrets and despair of the blades wielder temper the blade into an ever sharper form, that only lives to remind them of their darkest moments. Seeped in Strength: Whilst attuned, you may use your Charisma modifier, instead of Strength or Dexterity for attack and damage rolls made with this weapon. Additionally, this weapon deals 2d6 slashing damage on hit, changing to a d8 if two-handed. This damage increases to 3d6 when you reach 5th level, 4d6 at 11th level, and 5d6 at 17th level. Seeped in Pain (Curse): The bearer of this blade is haunted by their regrets. Whenever the wielder of this weapon takes a long rest, they must make a DC 10 + Their Proficiency bonus Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, they are plagued by nightmares of their regrets and darkest moments. If they fail this saving throw twice in a row, they gain one level of exhaustion. Any long rest where they were bearer was beset by nightmares, does not remove any levels of exhaustion. A Remove Curse or Greater Restoration spell removes the wearers attunement to this weapon. |
