It has a thin end made for gripping, and a larger end made for striking enemies. There is a flattened 'pommel' at the base of the base of the weapon. Above that, there may be a leathery wrapping in order to improve the grip. Past the grip, the wood gradually grows in diameter until it reaches a couple inches and remains that size for the rest of the length.
