Bakudō #4: Hainawa
1st-level Evocation
Casting time: 1 Action
Range: 30ft
Components: Somatic
Duration: Concentration, 1 minute

Binds enemies with a Reishi rope to stop their movement.Generating a crackling yellow energy rope within his/her hand(s), the practitioner throws it toward the opponent. The energy winds around the opponent's arms and body, immobilizing them.

The caster fires a bolt of electricity in the shape of a slithering rope at a target. That target must make a Dexterity saving throw to the spell save DC of the caster, or have the rope attach itself to them on a failure. On a success, nothing happens. While attached, the movement speed of the creature being bound is halved. Additionally, for every 5 feet they move they take 1d4 lightning damage. This increases to 1d6 at 6th level, and 1d8 at 12th level. They may retry this saving throw at the end of each of their turns, ending this effect early on a success.

At Higher Levels

For every slot level above 1st you cast this spell at, the target takes another die's worth of damage, however, this spell cannot be cast at a spell slot above 5th level.
