Axe Crossbow (5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Martial Ranged Weapons
An axe crossbow is a heavy weapon designed by dwarves with too much free time. It was created as a multipurpose weapon that replaces an axe while retaining the functionality of a heavy crossbow. One can wield it in any combat situation, either as a two handed axe for melee or as a crossbow with the appropriate ammunition for ranged combat. Originally designed for the great dwarf hero, Alsenifor, for use in his crusades against the undead. It is said by many that Alsenifor struck down the Lich King Rakazastra with his axe crossbow, striking his skull, then loosing a crossbow bolt, blade still embedded.
Special. This weapon may be used to both make melee attacks and make ranged attacks. Melee attacks with this weapon deal 1d10 slashing damage and ranged attacks with this weapon deal 1d10 piercing damage.
