Art of Lifedrain (5e Blessing)

Art of Lifedrain[edit]

You become blessed with the ability to drain the life from other beings.

This forbidden black art is associated with vampires and raw negative energy. Perhaps a powerful vampire such as Strahd von Zarovich granted it to you as a gift, or a dark being of negative energy taught you the art. It goes without saying that these sorts of entities will only rarely teach the art to neutral-aligned creatures, and good-aligned creatures will never be able to receive it due to a conflict of interests.

This blessing grants you the use of the Dark Hand, a dark red energy that swirls around your hands. While one of your hands is free, you may use it to cast the vampiric touch and shield spells at will, and your unarmed strikes deal an additional 1d6 necrotic damage on a successful hit. These effects are extensions of the Dark Hand's energy rather than true spells, and can't be nullified by antimagic.
