Dive Attack. If the archaeopteryx is flying and dives at least 30 feet straight toward a target and then hits it with a melee weapon attack, the attack deals an extra 1 damage to the target.

Flyby. The archaeopteryx doesn't provoke an opportunity attack when it flies out of an enemy's reach.

Keen Sight. The archaeopteryx has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.

ACTIONS

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1 piercing damage.

The archaeopteryx is an unusual bird with sharp teeth and keen eyes. Many "wise" philosophers falsely think and teach that they are evolutionary crossovers between land-roaming dinosaurs and birds, though they are fully equipped for flight. They hunt fish and insects on the tropical islands where they live while ignoring the large predators such as dinosaurs that they live alongside. An archaeopteryx averages 20 inches long and weighs 1 pound. They are usually shades of gray and blue in color.
