Android, 2nd Variant (5e Race)
From D&D Wiki
|3 androids, Akira Toriyama.|
Androids are almost indistinguishable from humans to the naked eye. Only those who can sense life energy, such as ki, can differentiate the two due to the fact that they can’t sense even the slightest drop of Ki from them. Despite this, most aren’t entirely mechanical. Rather, most are modified humans more akin to cyborgs. Despite their often moderate physique, they are incredibly strong.
The first androids were created by a scientist known as Dr. Gero for the fascist military group known as the Red Ribbon Army. The original batch consisted of androids 1-12, but due to his inability to control them, Gero had them destroyed, save for Android 8 who escaped. Androids 13-20 were the result of modifying already existing humans, save for 16, which was wholly robotic. The rest, save for Android 20, who was Dr. Gero himself, were made from kidnapped civilians.
Many androids continue to serve the Red Ribbon Army due to their programming. Those who do not tend to attempt to reincorporate themselves into society, though they typically take jobs that benefit from having extreme strength, such as a tournament fighter or park ranger.
Androids tend to retain their factory name, despite many having pre-Android names. Their names consist of the word Android followed by whatever number they were assigned, or a play on their number.
