Alter Ego

Prerequisites: Kalashtar
Select few kalashtar are able to open their mind fully to the spirits of plane of dreams, suffusing themselves with an alter ego. As a result, you gain the following benefits:

  • You gain an alter ego. Create the alter ego with the help of your DM by following the guide to Sentient Magic Items on page 214 of the Dungeon Master's Guide. In addition, your alter ego gains the skill proficiencies from your background and 2 skill proficiencies of your choice. Your Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores as well as your skill proficiencies change depending on which ego is present, your character's or your alter ego.
  • The number of attunement slots you have increases by 1. However, you are only able to use the item you attune to with this slot if your alter ego is present.
  • Both you and your alter ego gain expertise in a skill that both of you are proficient in.
