NOTE: Alli is an NPC in the Years of Gold setting, and the entry reflects that. She should be easy enough to adapt to games and campaigns in other settings, but remember to check her over for Pansaer-exclusive content.
History[edit]
The daughter of a drunkard mother and a father nowhere to be seen, Alli grew up in hard conditions, and ended up a hard woman. She dabbled in gardening, her mother's trade, but quickly grew bored of it and discovered that much more money could be made working in the Aurite churches. Their preaching fell on deaf ears, but Alli had a knack for pretending to be interested, and did pick up on the important things: how to sway the downtrodden to your side; how to do one thing and say another; and the basics of a cleric's art.
As one final punch against the church she exploited, Alli set off to finish her cleric training with a wandering Ahti soothsayer. She learned the trade, abandoned the soothsayer and got in touch with the first noble who would provide her with a comfortable living for doing what she loved: bossing people around. That man was Thomas von Gutherberg, and the job offered a gardener-custodian at the Royal Zoo.
Appearance and beliefs[edit]
Pretty, but not nice. |
Alli is a short wisp of a woman (4' 10'' and 75 lb.) with a pretty face and a personality that seems to match: a quiet, easygoing personality, someone you could pour your heart out to. You'd be a fool to do so, though: Alli is in truth cruel and opportunistic, accomplishing with a soft word as much as another would with a scream. She especially enjoys finding out nasty secrets and then blackmailing people with them. As a gardener of the Royal Zoo, where a lot of lesser nobles (as well as nighttime crooks) like to visit, she has a lot of opportunities to practice this art.
Alli has looks that betray her high salary: her raven hair is colored (her actual color is a dusty brown), her lips painted and her clothes expensive. However, her hands are rough, and her boots, gloves and apron thick and dirty, owing to her gardening profession. Alli is also an elementally lazy woman: she doesn't do anything she doesn't have to, and is angry about having to do even the necessary things. She is happy to boss around others to work in her stead, and even moves with a lazy gait.

Combat[edit]
Alli invariably lets those under her command to take the brunt of the attack, striding back and forth like a cat. She casts her strongest spells first, buffing with bull's strength and then moving to offensive spells. The moment her minions are down she turns tail and runs: no amount of money is worth more than her life.
