Life in school was never meant to be normal for you. While others spend their days obsessing over grades, sports, and whatever drama is trending that week, you’re simply trying to make it through the day. You never dreamt to be part of devil hunting. But when someone close to you died, or when a devil attacked your school, you were forced into a new lifestyle, where danger is always lurking in the shadows, and devils might be wearing the same uniform as you.

Between schoolwork, devil hunting, and possibly lethal encounters daily, you’re trying to figure out how to survive in a world that doesn’t care whether you live or die. Maybe you’re still just trying to figure out who—or what—you really are, or maybe you’re too deep into this career to turn back now.

Skill Proficiencies: You gain expertise in one of the following skills: History, Insight, Nature, or Religion

Equipment: 5gp, a book relating to your studies, a school uniform (common clothes).

Feature: Area of Study

When you still an active student in school, there was one course or material that greatly fascinated you. You gain one of the following abilties based on the skill you choose from this background:

• Historian. You took a great interest into history and the world of the past. When attempting to identify a devil, if you make a History check you may make the check at advantage

• Psychologist. You took great interest into the inner workings of the human mind, gaining insight into humanity's psychology. Whenever a creature capable of making contracts offers one to you, you have advantage on any checks to see any possible downsides or hidden meanings in the contract.

• Biologist. Growing up, you were always interested in the plants and animals of the world. When attempting to differentiate effects of a devil from natural phenomenon, you may add your Intelligence modifier an additional time.

• Theologian. When you found faith, you found your calling in life. If you know what concept a devil's origin is, you may roll a religion check against the devil's charisma score + their Proficiency bonus to identify the devil's fear level.

Variant: Devil Hunter Club

Education? Hell no, you were born to kill devils even if it kills you before graduation. As a member of the Club, you gain proficiency in 2 skills and 1 weapon of your choice. Additionally, when training a combative ability or feature it takes half the time to learn (Example: While for a normal person learning martial arts would take 2 weeks, you can do it in just one).

You can use the following characteristics when coming from a highschool background.

1	I’m always trying to keep my head down and avoid attention, but I can’t help but get pulled into dangerous situations.
2	I always keep a cool head, no matter how dangerous the situation becomes.
3	I’ve learned to laugh in the face of danger. If I didn’t, I’d go insane.
4	I am always trying to fit in or make friends, even in the most awkward situations.
5	When I see others struggling, I offer to help.
6	I've lost too many friends, and I'm slow to make new ones.
7	I'm quiet and tend to stay on the sidelines.
8	I have a happy personality as a way to move on from my pains.

1	Rebellion. Rules are meant to be broken. The system is corrupt, and sometimes, you have to push back to make change or find your true self. (Chaotic)
2	Obey. I do what I must and obey my superiors. (Lawful)
3	Justice. I fight for what’s right, even if it means standing up to my peers or authority. The world isn’t fair, but I can make a difference. (Good)
4	Power. The world is a game, and only the strongest should survive. I believe in taking what I want, when I want it, and using others as stepping stones to climb higher. (Evil)
5	Anarchy. Rules are meant to be broken.. (Chaotic)
6	Knowledge. The more I know, the better. Whether it's about the latest trends or secret knowledge, curiosity drives me. (Neutral)

1	My family was destroyed by devils, and I will make them pay for their cruelty.
2	There’s someone—or something—out there that I need to find or protect. They could be a family member, friend, or someone whose life was changed by devils, and I won’t rest until I know the truth.
3	I have a strong connection to my school or neighborhood and feel compelled to help make it a better place.
4	I have a classmate, for which I would die for, and they'd do the same for me.
5	There’s something or someone in my life that I can’t bear to lose. Whether it’s my family, my reputation, or my future, I’ll go to any lengths to make sure it stays in my life.
6	I’m part of a team, whether it’s a band of misfit classmates or a devil-hunting crew. I’d die for them—or at least, I’d try to.

d6	Flaw
1	I have a habit of getting too involved in dangerous situations without thinking about the consequences.
2	I can’t stand losing, and I’m willing to do whatever it takes to come out on top, even if it means pushing my friends aside to win.
3	I can be impulsive, acting out of anger or fear rather than logic, especially when dealing with devils.
4	I'm *extremely* scared of devils.
5	I always feel like I have to be perfect, whether it’s in schoolwork, appearances, or relationships. If I fail, I beat myself up over it.
6	I trust people too easily, often giving them the benefit of the doubt. This leaves me vulnerable to being taken advantage of or tricked.
