Abyss Magician (4e Paragon Path)
From D&D Wiki
Abyss Magician[edit]
“ | Why waste time with emotions when raw power is far more productive and reliable? | ” |
—Manus, Deva Sage, On the Abyss |
Prerequisite: Sage with Intelligence score of at least 18
It is the very purpose of a Sage to piece together the higher mystery, philosophy, as it were. Some sages embrace their emotions, following their instincts to find the next piece of the puzzle in their own time. You have forsaken instinct, emotion, and baseless thought. You have chosen to rest the pieces from the mystery by force. Through constant research and systematic processes, you have found a means to the acquisition of these pieces, merely at the cost of the base emotions and instincts that get in your way. Having given yourself over to the Abyss, you can now devote all of your time to the pursuit of philosophy, and have access to dark powers in case an outside factor tries to intervene.
Abyss Magician Path Features[edit]
- Abyssal Force (11th Level): Once per encounter as a minor action, a power you have with the "Necrotic" keyword deals additional necrotic damage equal to your intelligence and knocks the enemy prone.
- Enveloping Action (11th Level): When you spend an action point to take an extra action, you gain partial concealment until the end of your next turn.
- Void's Negation (16th Level): If an attack power you use hits an ally, you may spend a minor action to resolve the power without dealing damage. The power is not consumed if it is a daily power.
