Abvar (5e Race Variant)
From D&D Wiki
Warforged Variant[edit]
It is said that there was once a lonely woodcarver who made a doll that could accompany his life. He treated the thing as though it were his living flesh and blood. Abvar are uncannily parallel to this fairy tale. They are beautifully constructed dolls, with a magic core, mimicking human tendencies. This core is said to come of magic powered by a human soul, which is what gives the abvar their semblance of life, contrary to the method of fluids that make normal warforged living constructs. The rise of wanton power-grabbing and amoral empires resulted in the production of abvar warforged for combat. Many of these abvars, having feelings and a soul, became broken by such horrid experiences and fled.
This race variant replaces the integrated protection and specialized design traits. You instead gain the inner arcana and Coppelian design traits.
Inner Arcana. You are proficient in the Arcana skill. Additionally, you know the arcane bolt cantrip.
Coppelian Design. You look and appear human. If you rouse suspicion, or if a wary creature suspects something is amiss, you have advantage on any Charisma (Deception) check you make to avoid detection.
