Exponential Weapon (5e Equipment)

Weapon (any), legendary (requires attunement) This weapon has the uncanny ability to inflict exponentially more damage than a normal weapon. On a critical hit, the damage equals the weapon’s die damage squared. For example: A longsword’s damage equals 1d8 when wielded with one hand. On a critical hit, the damage would equal (1d8)².
