Weapon (greatsword), legendary (requires attunement)

Not everything in this world can be as pure as moonlight, since even moonlight itself can fall victim to corruption.

While in the process of crafting a blade that uses the power of the moon and its light as weapon, things can go horribly wrong. While some lose their sanity, and others transform into hideous monstrosities of their former selves, other times, the moonlight stored within the blade can be corrupted. When that happens, this weapon is crafted.

Unholy Moonlight is a magical greatsword that has a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls and deals an additional 1d8 necrotic damage.

As an action, by expending a quarter of your current hit points, you release an unholy, red explosion of corrupted moonlight in a 30 ft. radius around yourself dealing necrotic damage to all targets within range totaling the amount of Hit Points you expended. All creatures caught in the blast may make a DC 16 Constitution saving throw to take half damage. You can use this effect twice, and must finish a long rest to regain all of its uses.
