Little Pony (5e Race)
From D&D Wiki
Little Pony
Little ponies, also known as ponies, are quintessential good creatures. The hope and spirit that embodies them inspires others around them to do the right thing. At times ponies may get discouraged or frustrated by the trouble they face but their resiliency to misfortune is testament to their determination and dedication to completing their goals. The most common way they overcome challenges is through their friendship. They are a race that places immense value on relationships with others in order to overcome hard and difficult times.
Physical Description
Various little ponies, including many well-known characters. |
Ponies look very much like regular ponies except for Pegasi and Unicorns; these two either have wings or a horn. Sometimes, a pony is an Alicorn and has both wings and a horn. Ponies that do not have wings or a horn are simply referred to as Earth Ponies and are the most common ponies. What they lack in wings or a horn is made up for with an extra dose of goodness unrivaled by any other pony.
Ponies are all different colors as well. They can range anywhere from pink to black but almost always they are a single color. All ponies, when they come of age, have a cutie mark that is located on both of their hind quarters. Sometimes but not always this cutie mark has a correlation with the pony’s name. The image could be some apples, a star, a coat of arms, etc.
History
Ponyland is where everything began for the ponies. For the most part, the little ponies lived peacefully but some creatures wanted the ponies gone. Having grown tired of constantly fighting to survive, the ponies left their land for a region known as Friendship Gardens. Unfortunately for the cheerful and happy ponies, an unexplained blizzard occurred causing famine. Tribal leaders gathered and the blizzard got worse as they all blamed each other for misery that was. As the hatred continued, it came to light that windigos had followed the ponies from Ponyland. The windigos from Ponyland feed off hatred and fighting and when gathered in large numbers, create magical ice storms or blizzards. The tribal leaders developed a plan to travel even further away this time. They created their own plane and named it Equestria. It didn’t take long for word to get around and evil to show. Discord, a spirit of chaos and disharmony, manages to establish reign over Equestria and rule it with unrest and unhappiness. Two Alicorns decide to stand up to Discord and they find the Elements of Harmony. With these, they turned Discord to stone and returned peace and joy to Equestria.
Society
Little ponies are a celebratory race. So long as the work is done, they are enjoying the current festival. Ponies are herbivores and stick to mainly stews, cakes, and sandwiches but they also enjoy eggs and milk. Ponies will tend to their own gardens, fields, and patches. Members of the various tribes work together and everything is done for the greater good of Equestria and the little ponies.
Interactions with other races are the same almost every time. Upon meeting anyone the ponies try to befriend the creature, unless it is well known the creature means them harm. In the event something means harm to the ponies, they try to subdue the creature rather than kill or bring serious harm to it. Little ponies are known for their kindness, forgiveness, and generosity. To intentionally cause harm to another creature goes against a little pony's nature.
Little Pony Names
Ponies are very cheerful and fun and their names typical depict that spirit and nature of them. Some ponies draw their names from the world around them such as Applejack. Some pony’s names are puns based on horse and ponies like Dr. Foal. Rarely will a pony have a name that is one syllable.
Examples: Fluttershy, Glitter Dream, Luna, Sparkle Berry, Rainbow Dash, Gladmane, Tiny Dancer, Fairmane
