Large aberration, lawful evil Armor Class 14 (natural armor)
Skills Perception +6, Stealth +3 Innate Spellcasting. The spider-council's spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 14). It can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components: At will: acid arrow, command, message Mirrorwalk. The spider-council can enter or exit the Ethereal Plane via mirror. Probing Telepathy. If a creature communicates telepathically with the spider-council, the spider-council learns the creature's greatest desires if the spider-council can see the creature. Web Sense. While in contact with a web, the spider-council knows the exact location of any other creature in contact with the same web. Web Walker. The spider-council ignores movement restrictions caused by webbing. ACTIONSMultiattack. The spider-council makes three attacks, only one of which can be a slam. Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 3 (1d6) piercing damage plus 10 (2d6 + 3) poison damage. Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (3d6 + 5) bludgeoning damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 14 Strength save or be knocked prone.

A hulking, misshapen being, made up of dozens of sorrow-spiders fused and knotted together. The formation of these entities is a crucial part of sorrow-spider reproduction, as they are capable of implanting eyes with larvae; the spiders seek eyes which have been blessed (or cursed) with the burning radiance of the Correspondence because these produce offspring which form spider-councils more readily. |
