Rod, legendary (requires attunement)

A steel plague censer attached by a chain to a rod of perpetually rotting and growing wood. This censer gives off a constant green fog of putrid essence made up of disease and death. Any creature who holds the rod must succeed on a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or become inflicted with several diseases at once, chosen by the DM. Regardless of the outcome, the creature wielding the rod begins to have their skin rot and regrow at a constant rate for as long as they hold it. The rod can be used as a maul with a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls. In addition, the rod has 5 charges and regains 1d4 + 1 expended charges daily at dawn. When you hit a creature with this weapon, you may expend 1 charge to force the target to make a DC 16 Constitution saving throw. On a failure, they take an additional 1d12 necrotic and 1d10 poison damage.
