The gulping gasper often hides itself in trees or overhanging structures, where its inner worm can spring forth to ensnare unsuspecting prey. Although it can engulf meals that may seem several times its mass, it lacks true jaws or any mouthparts more advanced than a small, rasping tongue; instead, it incapacitates prey by injecting a massive does of insulin into their bloodstream, eventually forcing them into a diabetic coma. It is relatively intelligent, and may mimic other creatures to manipulate prey capable of communication to their death.
