College of Divinity
Bards spin great stories and sing legendary songs. Yet some travel not to bring merriment among their audiences, but salvation. Bards that join the College of Divinity swear allegiance to a deity in much the same way a cleric does, dedicating themselves to the use of evangelism. From that moment on, their stories are those of the gods and their songs are those of the saints. Divine bards seek a better afterlife and a better world, and travel in much the same way as regular bards, but carry a far more uplifting message.
- Bonus Proficiencies
When you join this college at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with medium armor and with the Religion skill. If you are already proficient in the Religion skill, you may choose a different skill to become proficient in. Additionally, you can use a holy symbol as your spellcasting focus.
- Bardic Acolyte
When you join this college at 3rd level, choose one of the cleric class' divine domains. The domain spells of your chosen domain are added to the bard spell list for you. Additionally, you gain the 1st-level benefits of your chosen domain, but you do not gain any weapon or armor proficiencies from this feature.
When you join this college at 3rd level, you gain the ability to channel divine energy directly from your deity, using that energy to fuel magical effects. You start with two such options: Divine Inspiration and the 2nd-level Channel Divinity option of your chosen domain.
When you use your Channel Divinity, you choose which effect to create. You must then finish a short or long rest to use your Channel Divinity again.
Some Channel Divinity effects require saving throws. When you use such an effect from this class, the DC equals your bard spell save DC.
Channel Divinity: Divine Inspiration
As an action, you expend one use of your bardic inspiration class feature, and grant one Bardic Inspiration die each to any number of creatures of your choice within 60 feet of you that can hear you.
- Bardic Priest
By 6th level, your faith and study of divine lore have granted you additional abilities. You gain the 6th-level benefits of your chosen domain.
- Divine Intervention
By 14th level, you can petition the gods to directly intervene in the affairs of mortals. When a creature you can see within 60 feet rolls a 1 or 20 on an ability check, attack roll, or saving throw, you can expend a Bardic Inspiration die to swap a rolled 20 for a 1, or vice versa. After using this ability, you must complete a long rest before using it again.
