Ring, rare (requires attunement)

The ring of hostile projection is a malevolent-looking ring shaped from obsidian, and laced with lines of glowing magma that make it glow dim light out to a range of 5 feet. It exudes hostile energy into the minds of creatures nearby if it is not attuned to anything.

When attuning to it, you must make a DC(14) Strength saving throw, taking 4d4 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one.

Weaponized Projection. While you are attuned to the ring of hostile projection, you may make melee attacks at a distance of up to 15 feet, and deal an additional 1 fire damage on a hit.

If the attack is made at a distance beyond what is normally possible for the weapon being used, it deals your choice of force or fire damage instead of its original damage type.
This ring does not increase your range with melee spell attacks.
