Tiefling Variant Traits
A bit of variation to the basic tiefling.
Ability Score Increase. See below for variant ability score modifiers
Age. Tieflings mature at the same rate as humans but live a few years longer
Alignment. Tieflings might not have an innate tendency toward evil, but many of them end up there.
Evil or not, an independent nature inclines many tieflings toward a chaotic alignment.
Size. Tieflings are about the same size and build as humans.
Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision. Thanks to your infernal heritage, you have superior vision in dark and dim condition. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Hellish resistance. You have resistance to fire damage.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and Infernal.
Child of Fraz-Urb'luu
Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma score increases by 1. Your Dexterity score increases by 2.
Fraz-Urb'luu's secret. You can cast the alarm spell once and need to finish a long rest before you can cast it again.
Summons. As a bonus action, you can swap places with a willing creature you can see within 30 feet of you. Once you use this trait you cannot use it again until you complete a long rest.
Locked Up. You have resistance to psychic damage.
Blood of Graz'zt
Ability Score Increase. Your Intelligence and Dexterity scores increase by 2.
Seducer. You gain proficiency in Persuasion.
Charming Lord. You know the friends cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the charm person spell once and need to finish a long rest before you can cast it again. When you reach 5th level, you can also cast the detect thoughts spell once and need to finish a long rest before you can cast it again. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
Demon Prince. You gain proficiency in the Intimidation skill
Spawn of Orcus
Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity and Constitution scores increase by 2.
Restless Beast. You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed and magic can’t put you to sleep.
Death Strike. When you score a critical hit with an attack, you can deal necrotic damage equal to your level. Once you do so you cannot do so again until you complete a short or long rest.
Blind hatred. When you are reduced to 0 hit points you can make an attack roll against a creature within 5 feet of you. Once you use this trait you cannot use it again until you complete a long rest.
