Weapon (longsword), rare (requires attunement by a creature with spellcasting)

This longsword has the appearance of a normal longsword, except that it is made entirely of ice, containing no metal, stone, leather, or any other non-ice material. The icy blade and hilt are both a transparent whitish-blue color, and sparkle spectacularly when held up to light. You have a +1 bonus to your attack and damage rolls with this magic weapon. Once attuned, the owner may conjure or dismiss this weapon at will, requiring no action to do either. In addition to the basic properties of a normal longsword, this weapon is considered to have the finesse property, and it deals an additional 1d8 cold damage. When an attack with this weapon hits a fire elemental or another fire-based creature, that creature takes an additional 1d8 cold damage. This weapon cannot be melted by any means; not even a wish spell or similar effect can force this weapon to enter a liquid state.

Spells. While wielding this weapon, the user may cast the frost bolt cantrip as an action, using their spell attack modifier for the attack roll. Alternatively, the user may cast the frostball spell as an action without spending a spell slot, using their spell save DC, but if they do so, this weapon crumbles immediately after the spell has been cast, and can't be conjured again until dawn the next morning.
