5e SRD talk:Melee Attacks

It says right here, clear as day, that all characters are proficient with unarmed strikes. But I've seen races/class features/feats whatever pop up on this wiki, time and time again, that say things like "you gain proficiency with unarmed strikes" as if anyone isn't proficient in that form of attack already. Why's that? Is that rule really so hard to find? It kinda bugs me. Quincy (talk) 23:09, 29 October 2017 (MDT)
