Broom Icon.svg.png This page needs grammatical help. Reason: The forms should use more precise language and preferably be linked to pages that fully describe them. Ex. Giant Constrictor does not contain a size category, nor is its description entirely sufficient for play. A linked creature page would be great.

Yuan-Ti Lord[edit]

Some Yuan-Ti are born with Ancient blood. A remnant from the primal days of Yore. A Yuan-Ti Lord has captured the feral essence of its old heritage strengthening eldritch powers dating back to olden days.

Prerequisite

Yuan-Ti Pureblood, 10 Levels or more in Sorcerer

Statistics[edit]

Senses. The Yuan-Ti Lord gains 120ft darkvision (Pierces magical darkness)

Traits[edit]

Eldritch Venom. The poisons you produce including Yuan-Ti venom are laced with power from the Old Gods, turning any poison immunity the target has into resistance, and you can add your Charisma modifier to poison damage rolls. Your spell casting DC is used to calculate your poisons. You may use Yuan-Ti venom a number of times a day equal to your Charisma modifier including coating weapons or ammunition.

Poison Savant. When you make a damage roll, you ignore resistance to poison damage. You can coat a weapon in poison as a bonus action, instead of an action. When harvesting or creating your own poisons you gain additional doses equal to your proficiency bonus. You gain proficiency in a poisoner's kit, or expertise if you already have proficiency.

Actions[edit]

Shapechanger. The Yuan-Ti Lord can use its action to polymorph into one of three forms. All natural attacks in any form can be used with either Strength or Dexterity for attack and damage. Grapple checks can be used with Acrobatics. A Yuan-Ti Lord's natural attacks are considered magical for the purpose of resistance or immunity. The forms are as follows:

  1. Its true form (Yuan-Ti), which is humanoid.
  2. A serpent-humanoid hybrid.
  3. A giant constrictor snake.

Multiattack. (Hybrid Form Only) The Yuan-Ti Lord makes two claw attacks, one constrict attack, and one bite attack.

Claw. (Yuan-Ti Lord or Hybrid Only) Melee Weapon Attack: reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d10) slashing damage and 9 (2d8) poison damage

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: reach 5 ft., one target. 7 (2d6) piercing damage and is inflicted with Yuan-Ti Venom. If the target is a humanoid or beast, it must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or be cursed with Wereserpent lycanthropy.

Constrict. (Snake or Hybrid Form Only) Melee Weapon Attack: reach 10 ft., one Large or smaller creature. 7 (2d6) bludgeoning damage, is inflicted with Yuan-Ti Venom and the target is grappled. Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained and takes Constrict damage at the start of each of its turns, and the Yuan-Ti Lord can't constrict another target.

  • Yuan-Ti Venom (Injury): Constitution saving throw or become cursed for 1 minute, taking 13 (3d8) Poison damage and 2 (1d4) Constitution ability damage on a failed save, or 13 (3d8) Poison Damage on a successful one. The creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, Ending the Effect on itself on two success's.

Enthrall The Yuan-Ti Lord targets one beast it can see and can see it within 30 ft. of it. The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be charmed. The Charmed beast regards the Yuan-Ti Lord as a trusted friend to be heeded and protected. Although the target isn't under the Yuan-Ti Lords control, it takes the Yuan-Ti Lord's requests or ACTIONS in the most favorable way it can.

Each time the Yuan-Ti Lord or its Companions do anything harmful to the target, it can repeat the saving throw, Ending the Effect on itself on a success. Otherwise, the Effect lasts 24 hours or until the Yuan-Ti Lord is dead, is destroyed, is on a different plane of existence than the target, or takes a bonus action to end the Effect. Any humanoid poisoned by the Yuan-Ti Lord in the last hour becomes a valid target for Enthrall. The total amount of HD of Thralls cannot exceed your level x 4. If the HD of Thralls would exceed this limit the caster may choose which thrall/s are released from the Effect.

  • If a Beast has been enthralled for 8 Hours the Yuan-Ti Lord may expend 5 Sorcery Points and 2 hit dice to Indoctrinate the Beast. This ends the Enthrall and the beast is effected as if it was targeted by an awaken spell.
