Yinglets[edit]

Physical Description[edit]

Resembling, small, lithe, strange mix of rat and bird creatures, they are sized like children with a varying array of eye colors. Very elongated forearms and legs naturally befitting spears, coupled with a lightweight frame make this species fast and agile, perfect for ambushing in groups against bigger targets. Their small stature makes them a prime target for bigger creatures whenever alone. Due to their nature, they have shorter lives, but also breed exceptionally fast, reaching adult maturity by 2 years of age.

Males tend to have narrower, longer snouts and ears, with bigger shellteeth, especially so for Seeker males. Preener males tend to have slightly more rounded features that distinguish males from females. The females tend to have far rounder and shorter facial features, as well as ears, with a distinctive tuft of fur on the tip of the tail, which tends to be decorated for personal preference. Though due to their genetics, they are prone to mutations and genetic abnormalities, leading to a variance of physical attributes.

Society[edit]

Due to the huge disparity between males and females born, (1 Female born for about every 7 males) Yinglets reside within Enclaves under a Matriarchal Heirarchy, with a council of Patriarchs under her wing with skills befitting them being teachers to other Yinglets within their Enclave. The Matriarch attends to all matters of breeding schedule to reduce any possible inbreeding, educating the females of the Enclave, and being a representative for their Enclave, assigning Patriarchs based on what they are particularly good at. The better the Enclave is doing, generally the more Yinglets there will be in an Enclave, their young and adults. Generally the higher the position in an Enclave, the smarter they tend to be.

Relations[edit]

In Yinglet society, the Martiarch of the Enclave approves all pairings of males and females with their prospective traits that may help with furthering the Enclave in the future. Otherwise the males (Preener and Seeker) will copulate to keep from in-fighting with the rest of the males, Preeners having a more homely, caretaker personality whereas Seekers are the more aggressive of the males, preferring to do the hunting and fighting.

Yinglets can still form bonds with other Yinglets much the same as familial bonds, though the Matriarch has final say of which males breed which females.

With how energetic and how short of an attention span they have, they tend to be annoying to most other species. Though given time and understanding, most Yinglets can be treated like young human teenagers and it makes them far more bearable.

Alignment and Religion[edit]

Due to a Yinglet's tendency towards sporatic reactions and lack of attention, one would think them to be more chaotic, although how good or evil is dependent on the Yinglet themselves. Regardless of their attitudes and personalities, most Enclave yinglets tend towards lawful, at least when it comes to Enclave rules. The only semblance of religion that could be observed is in reverence to the First Enclave, or to females of their species.

Adventurers[edit]

Yinglets do not tend to go off alone due to their small size and propensity to being eaten by much larger things, or being sat on by someone in a bar. Though they still do travel quite a bit, learning various things as they can, with a possibility of actually retaining the information learned to better help their Enclave.

Due to their small size, they tend to attack in groups, sometimes with little care for their lives if it's to protect their females or their young.
