When a creature within 30 feet of the xavi that it can see travels to a different plane, the xavi magically travels to the same plane, appearing in an unoccupied space within 30 feet of the creature. |
Found throughout the planes, xavis are somewhat intelligent predators who lurk near portals between the planes and attack those who use them. Xavis are reptilian and somewhat resemble crocodiles, but they have six segmented limbs like insects and a long spout that is covered in eyes where the head should be. The spout contains a tongue that ends in a needle-like point, which the xavi extends to smell the air like a snake and at the end of the xavi's tail is a bulbous organ that resembles a flower bud. It is from this organ that the creature can fires a spray of acid to attack foes without needing to draw close enough to risk harm. Planar Predators. Xavis hunt by finding a planar portal and lying in wait near it until someone comes near. While waiting, the xavi finds a place to hide and enters a state of hibernation to conserve energy. When the portal is used, the hibernation ends instantly and the xavi jerks awake, hungry and ready to eat. Attempting to flee from the xavi's attack doesn't work, as all xavis are capable of a limited form of planar travel. |
