Wild Strider[edit]
Wild striders are specialized and dedicated rangers that focus on mastering the core aspects of the ranger's training, excelling in slaying their favored enemies, exploring wild regions and wandering unseen to their chosen hunting grounds. The life of a wild strider is usually very alone, rarely visiting civilization. No wild strider has spent more than a few years of his life in civilization, making they lack manners and presenting qualities that are usually looked down upon by city folk. Unknown to them, he makes up for it in knowledge and skill in combat.
- Adaptable Hunter
At 3rd level, you can easily adapt to your surroundings and to your enemies. Whenever you finish a short rest, you can replace one favored enemy or favored terrain you know for a new one.
In addition, you don't spend spell slots to use Primeval Awareness when you are in your favored terrain and searching from a creature of your favored enemy type.
- Versatile Fighter
Starting at 3rd level, you can adapt your style of fighting to every situation. Whenever you roll initiative, you can choose to replace one Fighting Style you know for a new one from the ranger's list.
- Wild Magic
Finally, at 3rd level, you expand your ability to use ranger magic. At 3rd level, and again at 5th, 9th, 13th and 17th, you can learn a new spell from the ranger's spell list. These spells doesn't count against your maximum number of spells known.
In addition, if you spend a spell slot to cast a ranger spell against a hostile creature, you can replace one of your favored enemies for the type of that creature.
- Unseen Strider
Starting at 7th level, you can wander the wild swift and unseen, like a predator. You gain the Land's Stride and Hide in Plain Sight features from the base Ranger class. In addition, when you gain those features, they have additional benefits:
- Land's Stride. Your walking speed increases by 5, and you gain a climbing speed and a swimming speed equal to your walking speed while you are in your favored terrain.
- Hide in Plain Sight. You can use this feature as part of the Hide action, instead of spending 1 minute, while in your favored terrain. You also don't lose the bonus while moving.
- Wild Slayer
At 11th level, you become an unparalleled hunter of your enemies. You gain the Foe Slayer feature from the base Ranger class. You also gain the benefits of this feature against creatures marked by your Hunter's Mark.
In addition, when you reach the 20th level, you can use this ability on all your attacks with a weapon against your favored enemies, instead of only once per turn.
- Legendary Senses
At 15th level, you gain the benefits of Feral Senses, feature, from the base Ranger class. In addition, when you reach the 18th level, no attack roll has advantage against you while you aren't incapacitated.
