Werechicken[edit]

A race of shapeshifters that are not a result of lycanthropy. Werechickens are believed to the be the result of ancient Halfling Druids either getting stuck in a chicken form, or drunkenly fooling around. Their true roots are not entirely clear.

Physical Description[edit]

Werechickens look like slightly larger chickens, or halflings depending on which form they are in. When in chicken form they range from 1.5 to 2 feet tall, and when in humanoid form they are about 3 feet tall.

History[edit]

Werechickens are an ancient and mostly unknown race. They typically spend most of their time in chicken form, and don't usually change forms unless needed to. There are, however, some members of the race that prefer their humanoid forms, and will rarely change into chickens. Werechickens have their own language that is shared between them and their chicken brethren.

Society[edit]

Werechickens mostly live in the wild forming small packs that graze together. These packs might contain a few ordinary chickens, but this is generally a rare occurrence. While werechickens are typically a pack minded race it should be noted that there are several of them that prefer to live alone, some that will live on farms in hiding, some that live in hiding as farmers cultivating the eggs of their chicken friends for profit, and even some that venture out and travel the world either alone or with companions of other races.

Werechickens Names[edit]

Werechickens have a birth name that their mothers give them when they hatch, but only other werechickens know how to pronounce it. Because of this Werechickens also have Common names that they use publicly when dealing with other races. These Common names are typically Common names, but this can change based on the werechicken's place of birth.
