Quinque[edit]

A quinque is a weapon manufactured from a ghoul's kakuhou used by CCG ghoul investigators. In order to function, the quinque emits electrical signals that stimulate the kakuhou, to release its RC cells, and the users nervous system, to control the kakuhou. They can be made into some type of melee or ranged weapon, but most retain a few characteristics from the original kagune. In contrast to kagune, quinque cannot change shape nor store or absorb Rc cells other than what was harvested from the ghoul it was made from. Preceding the quinque, the CCG had been using firearms to combat ghouls and, needing a more efficient tool, they began intensive research that resulted in the creation of the first quinque. Made solely to exterminate ghouls, quinques were considered the new generation of technology, promptly and effectively raising the extermination rate. Ghoul investigators transport them in bags or suitcases to store the kakuhou. Some investigators are known to collect quinque and others aspire to master their use. To attain a quinque, an investigator must first confirm their target's Rc type before exterminating them. Afterwards, it is common to name the quinque from the ghoul's name or alias (e.g., Noyama).

Chimera Quinques[edit]

In rare cases, a quinque can also be manufactured from ghouls with a chimera kagune, or multiple kagunes. The most notable benefit of these exotic quinques is the ability to use different combat styles during a confrontation, giving an investigator a wider arsenal to his disposal. Chimera quinque are useful for opposing multiple types of ghouls, though it is unknown if any combination of Rc types is possible or can occur naturally as chimera ghouls are extremely rare and the technical difficulties of fusing two Rc types together means that very few are capable of being used effectively in the field.

Kakuja Quinques[edit]

Kakuja quinques are a special type of quinque created from ghouls that have cannibalized and evolved a mutated kagune, becoming a kakuja. It more commonly functions as armor, protecting and enhancing the capabilities of the user by stimulating their body while equipped, but they can also be used to manufacture various weapons. Despite the vast majority of kakuja quinques taking the form of armor, there have been several instances in which kakuja quinques have taken more offensive forms such as blades. Aside from being potent melee weapons, these quinques retain special traits of the original kakuja, such as ranged projectiles, detachment, advanced kagune formation, and remote activation.

Known Quinques[edit]

The table below is list of the quinques that appear in the Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul:re animated series and mangas, adapted to fit Dnd 5e. The list is work in progress so many quinques might get changed for some time before being ready to use, please be patient.

It is most suitable for physically powerful attacks. In its upgraded form it takes the form of a medieval lance with a long D-shaped hand guard that run all the way to the end of the grip.
Kura Koukaku Unknown Damage: 2d6 slashing damage; Special properties: reach, 1 attack action to split A heavy koukaku quinque composed by a long cylindrical staff with a wide rectangular blade on top. It can be split in half and dual-wielded.
Narukami Ukaku S+ Range: 20/60(firing mode); Damage: 4d4 + Dexterity lightning damage(firing form), 2d6 + Strength slashing damage; Special properties: 1 attack action to change form A powerful ukaku quinque that can condense Rc cells in the form of bolts of lightning. In its secondary form, it resembles a thin blade that can easily slice through the flesh of an SSS rated ghoul.
IXA Koukaku S+ Range: 10/30 feet(mine); Damage: 2d10 + Strength piercing damage(lance), 4d4 piercing damage(mine); Special properties: 1 bonus action to launch the mine(can't use the lance stage for 1 round), twice per round use your reaction to activate the shield, reducing incoming damage by 1d8 + Dexterity damage A powerful koukaku quinque capable of devastating piercing attacks, strong enough to easily harm SS and SSS class ghouls. This quinque has three stages: base, shield and mine. While in base form it takes the shape of a medieval lance with a short grip. If the tip of the lance was to inserted into the ground, this will cause the shield form to activate, causing the lance to widen, offering protection from harm. If more of the lance is inserted into the ground, this will cause the mine form to activate, detaching a big portion of RC cells that will travel underground and activate if disturbed, impaling the creature that triggered it.
Owl Ukaku(Kakuja) SSS Range: 20/75 feet(firing mode), 10/30 feet(trap mode); Damage: 2d10 + Strength modifier slashing damage(blade mode), 2d8 + Dexterity modifier piercing damage(firing mode), 4d4 piercing damage(trap mode); Special properties: reach, 1 action to change mode, the trap mode is activated if a creature come within 5 feet of it, otherwise it will dissolve at the end of your next turn A powerful ukaku quinque capable of both short and long range destruction, it's the only known SSS rated quinque. Like IXA this quinque has three modes: blade, firing and trap. In its blade form this quinque resembles a one bladed greatsword with a long hand guard parallel to the grip. If the user wishes to, the blade will switch to its firing mode, growing chainsaw-like spikes all around its edge and spine, and being able to fire said spikes with tremendous force. While in firing mode, the trap mode is also unlocked: the knob of the sword can be shot out, lodging into the ground and exploding if disturbed, impaling the creature that triggered it.
Scorpion 1/56 Bikaku B Damage: 1d4 piercing damage; Special properties: light, finesse, thrown(15/30) A mass-produced quinque. Simple but effective, these daggers can be thrown or used to slice and stab.
13's Jason Rinkaku S+ Example A powerful quinque shaped like a giant axe. Its blade can turn into pointy tentacles if needed.
Fueguchi One Rinkaku Unknown Damage: 1d8 slashing damage; Special properties: reach A whip-like quinque, capable of fast slashing attacks.
Fueguchi Two Koukaku Unknown Damage: 1d8 bludgeoning damage; Special properties: reach, once per round spend you can spend your reaction to lower incoming damage by 1d6 A koukaku quinque shaped like moth's wings. It can be used to defend and attack at the same time.
Amatsu Chimera: Koukaku/Bikaku Unknown Damage: 1d6 piercing damage(dagger), 1d6 slashing damage(whip); Special properties: reach(whip), finesse, 1 attack action to change mode A chimera quinque, combining a bikaku whip with a koukaku dagger that can be released from the bottom of the hilt.
Demon Yamada 1 Bikaku S Damage: 2d8 slashing damage; Special properties: heavy An enormous bikaku quinque that takes the form of a long butcher knife. It can withstand attacks from even kakuja users.
Hollow Ukaku Unknown Range: 20/60 feet; Damage: 1d4 piercing + 1d6 lightning damage This quinque wraps itself around the arm of the user. It fires barbs that attach to the target. They then start building up energy before finally exploding.
Litsuu Koukaku A+ Damage: 2d6 slashing or piercing damage; Special properties: reach A koukaku-type quinque that takes the form of a pair of gauntlets with thin long blades attached. It is strong enough to pierce the thickest of armors.
Chi She Koukaku SS Damage: 2d8 slashing damage; Special properties: reach A quinque that resembles a poleaxe with a straight double- edged blade and a curved guard over the handle.
Douhi Ukaku Unknown Range: 20/60 feet; Damage: 1d8 piercing damage A quinque that rapid-fires shards. Much like a cross between a crossbow and a machine gun.
Taruchi Koukaku A+ Example A two-handed quinque in the shape of a halberd. Its blade can also become whip-like if necessary.
Kuroiwa Special Rinkaku S Example A shield that is used primarily for attacking. It is also sturdy, being able to block projectiles from an SSS rated ghoul.
Kajiri Ukaku Unknown Range: 20/60 feet; Damage: 1d10 piercing damage Kajiri was a shiny, gold, gauntlet with a spiked tip that shot crystal-like projectiles supposedly made of quinque steel.
Higher Mind (Angel Beat) Ukaku SS Example A quinque that shoots beams of concentrated energy. It is connected to a briefcase which also serves as a power-supply, though it is able to damage a ghoul even after the wires connecting were severed. It posses both area-of-effect blasts and multiple crescent-shaped projectiles in the form of "compress" and "diffuse" respectively.
Zebizu Ukaku S+ Range: 25/50 feet(firing mode); Damage: 1d4 fire + 1d4 force damage(missiles), 1d6 slashing damage(blades) The quinque has the ability to discharge homing missiles that attach to the target's body and explode after a brief period of time. It can be split in half and used as two separate blades.
Nagomi 1/3 Rinkaku A Damage: 1d8 + Strength slashing damage This quinque is a sword with 3 rectangular-segments embedded on its blade.
Emelio Ukaku Unknown Range: 30/90; Damage: 1d8 piercing damage; Special properties: 2 handed, heavy A quinque functioning along the lines of a machine gun. Capable of firing crystalilzed Rc cells at enemies successively within an impressive range.
Tsunagi Bikaku C Damage: 1d6 slashing damage; Special properties: versatile(1d8) A mass-produced quinque. Shaped like a long sword without a guard.
Ifraft and Abksol Rinkaku B Damage: 1d4 slashing damage; Special properties: light, finesse, thrown(15/30) A quinque in the form of a pair of two rinkaku daggers.
Bokusatsu No. 2 Koukaku B Damage: 1d6 bludgeoning damage This quinque is a two-handed hammer.
Thinning Bikaku Unknown Example A bikaku quinque resembling a straight sword featuring a serrated edge. The weapon displays sufficient sharpness to cut a rather deep gash into a pair of koukaku kagune.
Senza Koukaku A Damage: 2d4 slashing damage; Special properties: reach, two handed Senza is a koukaku-type quinque. It resembles a spear used for slashing rather than thrusting.
Silver Skull Ukaku A Example This ukaku quinque is a long katana that has shown to have enough efficiency to be able to cut clean through a ghouls body with ease. This quinque's gimmick mode resembles a ribcage that is able to pierce through its target.
Right and Left Koukaku B+ Damage: 1d6 piercing damage; Special properties: light, finesse The quinque resembles two short dual blades that have enough power to be able to sever an SS rated ghoul's kagune with relative ease. These blades resemble Scorpion 1/56 .
Beef Bikaku A Damage: 1d10 slashing damage; Special properties: versatile(1d12) The quinque resembles a long, guardless katana with a very sharp tip with a striking resemblance to Tsunagi. It was strong enough to hold off an SS rated ghoul's kakuja state for a short period of time.
Tetoro Bikaku A+ Example A bikaku "capture quinque". It is able to shoot out thick wires with a 3-leg hook at each side.
Rotten Follow Rinkaku S Example A quinque taking the form of a large chainsaw. It is very powerful, shown being able to easily slice opponents in half.
Aus Rinkaku S+ Damage: 1d10 slashing damage; Special properties: versatile(2d6) This quinque resembles a long sharp machete that could slice through numerous ghouls with ease and hold off against high rated ghouls.
T-Human Ukaku S+ Range: 20/60 feet; Damage: 1d6 lightning damage A quinque that can fire Rc energy condensed into lighting bolts, similar to Narukami.
Lantern Bikaku A+ Damage: 1d8 slashing damage; Special properties: reach, versatile(1d10) This quinque was made from the Lantern ghoul and it is whip-like quinque.
Nutcracker Chimera: Koukaku/Bikaku S Example A chimera quinque made from a bikaku and koukaku, resembling a cylindrical sword. It has the ability to explosively expand upon contact with a ghoul, creating a net-like sphere that rapidly grows from inside the body.
Ginkui Bikaku(Kakuja) SS Example A katana which could produce a kagune with a large mouth capable of killing numerous ghouls at once. Can be activated at range.
Kuai 1/4 Rinkaku A Damage: 1d6 piercing damage; Special properties: thrown(15/30) A rinkaku quinque which takes the form of four sets of individual small blades.
The Black Linshing nut 16/16 and White Loosting nut 16/16 Koukaku B+ Example A quinque in the form of a pair of thirty two koukaku utility knives. Learning to throw this quinque from a far distance without decreasing its strength its something that very few can do.

Q Bullets[edit]

Q bullets are bullets with a melted down kagune coating; however, because the material can only be acquired from ghouls, the coating itself is moderately thin. There is a bullet type for each respective kagune. They are adequate when used against a ghoul whose kagune type adversely corresponds with that of the bullets. While Q bullets are effective in their own right, this effectiveness only extends so far when compared to a quinque.

Statistics[edit]

The damage that a Q bullet deal depends on two things: the type of firearm it was shot from and the target it was shot at. If the target is a non-ghoul the bullet will deal double its regular damage (e.g. 1d6 -> 2d6) but if the target is a ghoul the bullet will have different effects based on the interaction between the two RC types. If the bullets type is strong against the kagune type of the target(RC types interaction listed below) this will cause the bullet to deal extra damage equal to half the size of the damage die of the firearm it was shot from (e.g. 1d6 -> 1d6+3) but if the the bullets type is weak against the kagune type of the target this will cause the damage dealt to be lowered by an amount equal to the half size of the damage die of the firearm it was shot from(e.g. 1d6 -> 1d6-3). In case the two RC types are neutral towards each other the Q bullets will deal their regular damage to the target. If, for whatever reason, the damage of the bullets isn't determined by the firearm it was shot from a Q bullet will deal 1d8 to a non-ghoul target and 1d6 to a ghoul target(still following the rules explained above).
