Way of the Weapon Master (5e Subclass)
Way of the Weapon Master[edit]
monastic tradition
Monks that follow the tradition of the weapon master learn how to harness and channel this energy to master the use of a single melee weapon. These masters become one with their weapon of choice, using the weapon as a extension of a limb.
- Weapon of Choice
Starting at 3rd level you fully devote to the mastery of a weapon. Your chosen weapon can be any simple or martial melee weapon or your unarmed strikes.
While wielding your weapon of choice, you gain a bonus of +2 to your Attack rolls with it, and you score critical hits on a roll of 19-20 on the d20.
You can replace your weapon of choice each time you gain a new Monk level.
- Ki Damage
Also at 3rd level, you can use your ki to enhance the damage dealt by your weapon of choice. When you roll damage for your weapon of choice, you can spend 1 ki point to deal the maximum damage for your weapon die instead.
- Increased Multiplier
Starting at 6th level, when you score a critical hit with your weapon of choice, you can spend 1 ki point to roll the damage die for your weapon of choice one additional time.
- Combat Reflexes
When you reach the 11th level, you become extremely reactive in combat. You can use your weapon of choice to make opportunity attacks once in each creature's turn, except your own turn, without using your reaction.
- Ki Whirlwind
When you reach the 17th level, you can use your action to make one melee weapon attack using your Weapon of Choice against each creature you choose within reach. You can use your flurry of blows after taking this action.
