Way of the Trueblade Myrmidon[edit]
Monastic Tradition
Monks who follow the tradition of a Trueblade Myrmidon are destructive whirlwinds of metal and blood. Mastering the art of the blade and swordsmanship, those warriors attack with velocity and relentless fury, slashing trough multiples enemies at once, with incredible precision.
They have a fierce dedication to the art of swordsmanship, and often spend their free time practicing with their blades. Some even take up weapon forging to keep themselves busy and allow them to learn all the finest ways to balance out their style. A few are scattered about the world passing their knowledge onto a very small group of students no more than six at a time so that their skills may be carried throughout time.
- Tool Proficiency
When you adopt this tradition at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with smith’s tools. If you already have this proficiency, you gain proficiency with one other type of artisan’s tools of your choice.
- Tuck and Roll
At 3rd level, the Trueblade Myrmidon can roll with a potentially lethal blow to take less damage from it than she otherwise would. if a weapon attack you can see would reduce you to 0 hit points, you can make a Dexterity saving throw against the result of the attack, using your reaction. On a success, you take only half the damage of the attack.
- Trueblade Technique
Starting at 3rd level, you become a master of weapons. Any melee weapon that causes slashing or piercing damage and lacks the heavy or two-handed property is a monk weapon for you. In addition, you gain the following benefits:
- Whirling Blades. When you make an attack with a monk weapon as part of the Attack action, you can use your bonus action to make another attack with a monk weapon. You must use your Martial Arts for the damage roll, instead of the normal damage of the weapon.
- Flurry of Blades. When you use your Flurry of Blows, you can make attacks with a monk weapon you wield, instead of using your unarmed strikes. You must use your Martial Arts die, instead of the damage die of the weapon, for these attacks.
- Precise Ruin. When wielding light blades Trueblade Myrmidons are more dangerous and precise. Whenever you spend a ki point on your turn, your attacks with monk weapons score critical hit on a roll of 20 - the amount of ki spent on the turn, on a hit.
- Cheat Death
At 6th level, when you use your Tuck and Roll feature, you can reduce the damage to 0, instead of only half.
- Uncanny Dodge
Also at 6th level, you gain the ability to halve the damage of an attack made against you, using your reaction.
- Advanced Trueblade Technique
Starting at 11th level, you gain the following additional techniques:
- Metallic Maesltrom. You are nothing more than a flash of steel and blood. Whenever you spend at least 1 ki point with a monk feature on your turn, you can use your Action to make a single weapon attack against each creature within 5 feet of you using a monk weapon.
- Blade Frenzy. Whenever you use your Flurry of Blows, you add your Wisdom modifier to the damage of your attacks made with monk weapons.
- Follow Trough. A Trueblade Myrmidon is utterly relentless on the battlefield and will not rest until each of her foes has surrendered or been slain. When you reduce a creature to 0 hit points, you use the rest of your movement towards another foe. If you end within 5 feet of it, you can use your Flurry of Blows without spending ki points
- Killer Instinct
At 17th level, when you score a critical hit against a creature, you cause additional damage equal to your Monk level and roll again for attack. If the result of your roll is enough to hit the target, you can force that creature to make a Constitution saving throw against your ki save DC. On a failure, that creature is reduced to 0 hit points.
