Way of the Tranquil Soul (5e Subclass)
Way of the Tranquil Soul[edit]
Monastic Tradition
Monks of the Way of the Tranquil soul spend years in order to gain the self control they need to manipulate their Ki in ways other monks would never dream of. Eventually, this mastery of the self leads to immense control over Ki, allowing them to influence some of the Ki in the world around them.
Voidance[edit]
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you begin to release a steady flow of Ki from your body. You can focus this into a way to take you off the ground. You gain a flying speed of 20 ft., which increases to 30 ft. at level 8th level, 40 ft. at 13th level, and 50 ft. at 18th level. You can also use this speed to move upwards, but this uses double the movement. Once you reach 15 ft., your fly speed is halved. Moving down does not use extra movement
Manifested Weapons[edit]
At 3rd level in this class, you gain the ability to create manifestations of Ki that you can use to strike your opponents. You can expend 1 Ki Point as a bonus action to create 2 small weapons made of Ki, which can be used as an action to make a ranged weapon against a target within 30 ft. This attack uses your Wisdom instead of your Dextreity. These do 1d4 + your Wis. modifier of force damage apiece, and this damage increase to 1d6 at 5th level, 2d4 at 8th level, 1d10 at 11th level, 2d6 at 14th level, 4d6 at 17th level, and 4d8 at 20th level. These attacks cannot use Stunning Strike.
Swaying Infusion[edit]
At 6th level, you gain the ability to infuse your allies or enemies with your Ki to best suit your needs. You can expend 3 Ki Points to create an orb that follows your allies, and it lasts for 3 rounds. During this time, it heals an amount of d6s equal to half your monk level (rounded down). Altenativly, you can use this on a target and force it to make a Wis. saving throw (8 + Proficiency + Wis.) and cause the target to take an amount of d6s equal to half your monk level (rounded down) of necrotic damage per turn on a failed save. This increase to 4 rounds at 15th level.
Enhanced Manifestation[edit]
At 11th level, your ability to manifest objects out of Ki increases. Your Manifested Weapons ability now summons 3 weapons, and it increase to 4 at 18th level. As well, you can now create armor out of your Ki. For 5 Ki Points, you can create armor that has the following effects:
- It gives +2 to your AC
- Gives resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage from nonmagical attacks
- Whenever hit by an attack, roll a d4. You regain an amount of Ki Points equal to half the roll (rounded down)
Changed Attacks[edit]
At 11th level, you can increase the amount of Ki within your Manifested Weapons to increase the damage. Upon attacking, you can use two Ki Points (per weapon) to make the attack a critical upon a success. You can do this before or after rolling the attack, but before learning the results. This cannot be stacked with a natural critical.
Reshape the Flow[edit]
At 17th level, you are able to change the flow of Ki in a 30 ft. area. As an action, you can expend 10 Ki Points to redirect the flow of Ki. You apply disadvantage to all attacks made against you or your allies within this range, and your allies have advantage on all attacks made within this range. As well, your allies regain an amount of Hit Points equal to your monk level every round they are in range, and your enemies take an amount of necrotic damage equal to half your monk level (rounded down). This effect lasts for 1 minute, until you are incapacitaed, knocked unconcious, or you dismiss it as an action.
