Way of the Scribe[edit]

Monastic Tradition

Scribes are men who write and read as a profession in a primitive and illiterate society. Monks are men who dedicate their whole lives to live in a brotherhood according to all the rules of their religion without questioning. They can do it because of faith, or because their parents didn't want them, or perhaps to flee from the insecurity of the outside world. As monks live to serve and some will serve as Scribes.

As a scribe, your religion is your life, you live with your brothers and embrace all rules of the faiths unlike the masses without question or moderation. You obey the abbot in all ways, and a priest or lord whom they send you to. You can belong to any churches of any different religions or even heretical religions but not one in a billion will be any softer on you. You live to serve, you live with your brothers in a monastery or you live with lord or Priest in their mansions to serve them. Monks such as scribes are allocated to work for persons or send where they are needed for their brothers superiors better. Monks are revered for their faith, and seen a meek and good. Some NPC may despite them for the same reasons.

This class only exist in Teoryran. Scribes makes good sidekicks or spies, because they are allowed to do things other classes aren't. A scribe is the only character is the entourage that can read or translate foreign, assuming you are heretical enough to even consider that barbarians could have a language.

Master of Letters

Starting at 3rd level, your time spent cloistered writing and reading on a monastery rewarded you with great domain over written language. You have advantage on any Intelligence and Wisdom checks made in relation to read, write and interpret text.

In addition, you take only half the time needed to write or read any given text. Finally, you gain proficiency with calligrapher's supplies and in the History skill.

Religious Reading

Also at 3rd level, you gain the ability to decipher religious scripture, understand their meaning and cast spells trough them. You can cast spells from spell scrolls you if you were a bard and with a level equal to your monk level.

Eidetic Memory

Also at 3rd level, you are doted of great capacity for memorization, being able to recall multiple types of information for a long period. You can accurately recall anything you have seen or heard within the past month.

In addition, you can memorize a language, skill or tool you have seen used, and can memorize it. When you do so, you gain proficiency in that skill, tool or language until you replace it.

Alternatively, you can use this ability in combat, to memorize attack patterns of a creature. Whenever a creature makes an attack or forces you to make a saving throw against an effect or spell, you can use your reaction to make make a Wisdom saving throw against the DC of that effect or result of the attack. On a success, you have Advantage on the save, or impose Disadvantage on the attacks, whenever a creature uses that effect.

You can also use this ability to memorize your own attack patterns, by using this ability when you hit a creature, you can make a Wisdom save against the AC of that creature as a reaction. On a success, you have Advantage on all attacks made against that creature for the next 24 hours.

You can spend 1 ki point when you use this reaction to automatically succeed on this memorization checks. You have a number of memorization slots equal to your Wisdom modifier, and to open space in your memory, you must complete a short or a long rest.

Versatile Mind

At 6th level, your mind becomes highly adaptable. When you finish a long rest, choose two skills that are currently memorized. Those skills are emptied from your memory, freeing the slots, and you add twice your proficiency bonus in checks with them. You can replace the skills whenever you finish a long rest.

You also learn how to quickly adapt to the changing flow of combat. Whenever you memorize an attack or effect that forced you to make a saving throw, you can remove that attack or effect from memory using a bonus action.

Analytical Strike

Starting at 11th level, when you have memorized your own attack patterns against a creature, when you hit that creature with an unarmed strike that has advantage, that attack is a critical.

You can forgo the critical to grapple, shove and prone the target, if the target is one size larger than you or smaller.

Mind Library

At 17th level, your mind is a great receptacle of knowledge. You double the amount of memory slots you have, and you can now memorize spells that you see being cast as a reaction.

To cast a spell memorized in this manner, you must make a Wisdom saving throw against the Spell Save DC, or spend a number of ki points equal to the level of the spell to do it instantly.

To cast the spell, you must spend a number of ki points equal to the level of the spell, up to a level equal to your proficiency bonus.
