Way of the Raging Light (5e Subclass)
Way of the Raging Light[edit]
Monk Subclass
Monks from the way of the raging light are able to use their ki to channel pure elemental light, imbuing it into their fists, hurling the light into blasts of pure energy and blinding their enemies with their radiant aura. These monks are often trained in temples dedicated to celestials or to sun gods, and they adorn themselves in white and golden clothing.
- Light Beam
At 3rd level, you can use an Action to fire a ray of light at a creature you can see within 120 feet. That creature must succeed a saving throw against your Ki save DC, or take radiant damage equal to a number of rolls of your martial arts die equal to your proficiency bonus.
Whenever you use your Action to fire a light beam, you can make an unarmed strike with your bonus action.
- Blinding Light
Starting at 6th level, whenever you cause radiant damage with these subclass features, you can force the target to make a Constitution saving throw against your ki save DC. On a failure, the target is blinded until the end of your next turn.
In addition, you become resistant to radiant damage and immune to the blinded condition.
- Holy Strikes
Starting at 11th level, your unarmed strikes are infused with celestial light. You cause additional radiant damage equal to your Wisdom modifier with your unarmed strikes.
True Form At 17th level, you can spend 1 ki point to enter your true form. While in this state your body is glowing pure golden. While in your true form you gain the following benefits:
- You shed an aura of bright light in a 20-foot radius, and dim light for another 20 feet. Any hostile creature that start its turn within the bright light or moves inside the area for the first time takes radiant damage equal to a roll of your martial arts die.
- You gain a flying speed equal to your movement speed.
- You become immune to radiant and necrotic damage.
This form lasts for 1 minute, and you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
