Way of the Lightning Slime[edit]

Monk Subclass

Monks are the absolute masters of the martial arts and are great at being fast and agile, dodging attacks left and right, and dishing out damage through multiple fast attacks. They wish to improve their strengths while also mitigating some of their weaknesses. So in search of this they decided to observe creatures of the realms and eventually came across the lightning slime. Copying the techniques of the lightning slime ending up hastening speed while also dishing out magic damage from all distances.

Piercing Lightning

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can shoot electric charged slime at lightning speeds. You gain a ranged attack that you can use as a bonus action. The attack has a range of double your movement speed. You are proficient with it and you add your Dexterity modifier to its attack and damage rolls. Its damage is lightning, and its damage die is a d4. This die changes as you gain monk levels, as shown in the Martial Arts column of the Monk table. When you use the Attack action on your turn to use this special attack, you can spend 1 ki point to pull an object or creature up to the size of large. When you do so, the target must succeed on a Strength saving throw (DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Dexterity modifier) or be moved your 10 feet anywhere where they end up closer to you. This distance changes as you gain monk levels, as shown in the Unarmored Movement column of the Monk table. A creature can willingly fail this save. If pulled into another creature or object, they both take half your martial arts die damage with no modifiers.

Lightning Speed

At 3rd level, your movement speed increases by 10 feet when wearing no armor.

Lightning Reflexes

At 6th level, when you take the Dodge action as a bonus action on your turn and an enemy misses an attack against you, you can use your reaction to move 15 feet away or make a single unarmed attack with disadvantage against your attacker. This distance changes as you gain monk levels, as shown in the Unarmored Movement column of the Monk table.

Slime Form

At llth level, your knowledge of lightning slimes and mastery of ki allows you to do a transformation. As a bonus action, you can spend 1 ki point to transform into a humanoid slime for 1 minute. Once transformed, you gain the following benefits:

  • Your AC increases by 1 when wearing no armor
  • Your unarmed attacks now deal and additional d8 lightning damage to enemies within 5ft of where you strike. This die changes as you gain monk levels, as shown in the Martial Arts column of the Monk table.
  • You can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing, and can move through spaces of enemies. Your movement doesn't provoke opportunity attacks.
Lightning Teleport

At 17th level, harnessing the speed of lightning you go so fast you end up teleporting. You can teleport up to your movement speed for the cost of half the distance you go. If you spend 3 ki points when you teleport you will do 5d10 lightning damage in a 5-foot radius where you teleport to. You can do this an amount equal to your Wisdom modifier per long rest.
