Way of the Lightfoot (5e Subclass)
Way of the Lightfoot[edit]
Monastic Traditions
Based on the Weapons of the Gods rpg
Using ki to enhance movement speed and versatility is on the core of the monastic martial arts. Any monk can use their ki to strike faster, run quicker and jump higher than anyone else. Lightfoot monks take these techniques one step further, becoming paragons of speed.
These monks focus on enhancing the ki to a level were they could strike like lighting, basically teleport from place to place and even realize the age old dream of humanoids to fly.
- Surefoot
Starting at 3rd level, all checks made to knock you prone or move you against your will are made at disadvantage and you have advantage on saving throws to avoid being knocked prone or moved. You can also use your Wisdom modifier, instead of Strength, on checks to avoid being knocked prone or unwillingly moved.
In addition, whenever you are knocked prone, you can get up without spending any movement.
At 11th level, you can stand on ceilings, vertical surfaces and surface of liquids even when not moving.
- Run Like A Deer
When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can use the Step of the Wind feature without spending ki.
- Infinite Endurance
At 6th level, you can travel at forced march without suffering exhaustion. In addition, when travelling at fast pace, you cover twice the distance and don't suffer any penalty on Wisdom (Perception) checks. This increases to three times the distance at 17th level.
- Headlong Flying Leap
Starting at 6th level, whenever you use your Step of the Wind, you gain a flying speed equal to your movement speed, that lasts until the end of your turn.
- Supernatural Speed
Starting at 11th level, your movements are so fast that can barely be seen by normal eyes. As long as you have at least 1 ki point, you can use your Flurry of Blows or Patient Defense without spending ki.
In addition, you can spend 1 ki point to add twice your proficiency bonus to your Initiative.
- High As The Clouds
Starting at 17th level, you finally reached the peak of your ki domain and become able to fly. You gain a flying speed equal to your movement speed and you can hover.
