Way of the Leg (5e Subclass)
From D&D Wiki
Way of the Leg[edit]
Monk Subclass
Most picture monks as unarmored, unarmed warriors, leaping into fights and knocking down others with only their fists. Fools, however, forget about the lower body. Those who follow the Way of the Leg place a special emphasis on training their lower body, building the power and speed of their kicks. To these ends, they are some of the fastest monks around.
- Leg Day
At 3rd level, when you choose this monastic tradition you gain the following.
- You can use your Dexterity score to calculate jump height and distance, and use the Dexterity modifier, instead of Strength, for Strength (Athletics) checks for the sake of jumping. Also, you do not need to make a running start to jump the full distance.
- You have proficiency in Athletics and Acrobatics, if you didn’t already.
- Kick Mastery
Your mastery of the leg have allowed you to perform powerful attacks using your legs. Starting at 3rd level, when you make a Flurry of Blows, you may impose one of the following.
- You move half your speed before making an attack.
- The first thing you hit is moved up to 15 feet away from you.
- Everyone within 5 feet of the first thing you hit(excluding you) takes the same damage.
- Sky Runner
At 6th level, you no longer need to spend ki points to use Step of the Wind. However, when you do use it, you can spend 2 ki points to gain a flight speed equal to your walking speed for the next minute, your training allowing you to literally walk on air. However, if you end your turn midair while using this flight speed, you begin to fall.
- Sprinter’s Fury
At 11th level, you may spend 3 ki points to cast the haste spell on yourself. When cast in this way, it does not require you to make concentration checks.
- Master Legman
At 17th level, when you use Sprinter’s Fury, you may expend an extra 3 ki points. For the duration of the spell, you also gain the following.
- You cannot fail a Dexterity saving throw.
- You cannot be targeted by opportunity attacks.
- You can instead apply Kick Mastery to every unarmed strike you make.
