Way of the Draconic Hands (5e Subclass)
Way of the Draconic Hands[edit]
Monk Subclass
Monks of the Way of the Draconic Hands are the ultimate masters of martial arts unarmed combat. Thanks to the blessing of a mighty dragon, they obtain the capability to dragonify and learn how their own body is the greatest weapon.
- Draconic Form
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can access the power that the dragon bestowed you in order to dragonify your arms and legs. You need to use a bonus action to enter your draconic form and it lasts for 1 hour.
The draconic form grants you the following benefits:
- You roll 1d6 for unarmed damage, this increases to 1d8 at 5th level, at 11th level 1d10 and at 17th level 1d12.
- You can decide to deal slashing, piercing or bludgeoning damage with your unarmed strikes.
- You deal double damage to structures and constructs.
You can assume the Draconic Form a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining your uses after finishing a long rest.
- Draconic Resilience
At 6th level, you gain further access to your draconic powers and you can use it to toughen your scales and perfect your body. Add +2 to your AC when not wearing armor nor shield (if you wear accessories that increase your defense only count the one which gives more AC).
Your hit point maximum increases in 6. You gain 1 additional hit point whenever you gain a new level in this class. In addition, you regain 1 additional hit point for each hit dice rolled to regain hit points during a short rest.
- Dragon's Element Improvement
At 11th level, you awaken the element of the dragon that has given you power. You gain resistance to your dragon's element even when not transformed, and immunity to it during your draconic form.
In addition, every attack in draconic form is imbued with your dragon's element and deals 1d6 extra damage of your draconic type.
- Draconic Overload
At 17th level when you use your Draconic Transformation, you can overload your body with your draconic power in order to destroy your enemies. Your overload lasts 1 minute.
During the overload you gain the following benefits:
- You gain resistance to all damage types (except psychic).
- You are immune to the effects of exhaustion (you still die after reaching 6 levels of exhaustion).
- You roll an additional d6 when causing your Dragon's Element extra damage.
The first time you use this feature before taking a long rest, you suffer no detrimental effects. Each subsequent use cause you to suffer 1 level of exhaustion when the duration ends.
